Advice from dads

My son is 12 and, without any persuasion, got into it about 18 months ago. He now watches every game.

He has seen 4 wins...and never been at a game we have won.

He went today and said he was worried all week we would lose by 50, so he was happy he saw a good game and we were close.

He also said Moses was a (word I can't use here) for doing the 'hush' sign to Tiger's fans in the area he was...

The word rhymes with grunt.

I told him he can change teams if he wants, but he said "too late". Tigers are his team. At least he will be able to appreciate the good times more 'if' we ever improve.

You should be proud of the way your son is developing it sounds like he will be a club stalwart

Don’t know mate. Stay positive.

This is the roller coaster and labour of love that is the Tigers. My 5 year old boy is mad keen for the Tigers - loves his Tigers pyjamas and everything. My 7 year old daughter is a little so and so and ribs me all the time about the Tigers.

Once we start winning he’ll be onboard!

My 8 year old and my 5 year old are on board but they very much aware that "the tigers don't win much do they dad"

I try keep it light so they don't get too bummed.

I had them up off the couch sending any kind of magic to douhei we could to get his kicks over today ☺️☺️☺️

My young fella is 6 turning 7. Really got into footy last year and watches every game this year. Been to a few games but can’t get to many as from the country. He is really starting to get sick of following a losing team. I’ve told him the importance of sticking solid but am fighting a losing battle. How are the other dads out there keeping the kids interested? I’m worried if we keep it up we will lose a generation of fans
Don't force your club onto your kid. It should be their choice. Especially considering a club as historically terrible as the Tigers, why would you want your kid to support us? Lmao

I teach Yr 1. Each year I track the teams and the wins, and the ladder. Last year, I had the pleasure of teaching my friend's granddaughter. I think it was round 16 when this absolutely gorgeous little doll said, "Hey, Mrs C. Them mighty wests tigers aren't very mighty, are they? They are really kittens. We're going to call them the not very mighty wests kittens." 😂

I didn’t choose mate I was born in Leichhardt with family going back a few generations in the area , I was born a tiger no choice
Oh right, so apparently its better to be forced to be a Tigers 'fan' than to have the ability to choose to be one. Seems like a great way to be a 'fan'. Just go along to get a long. Great characteristics you've exposed about yourself.

My son is not yet old enough to care, but when he does - I'd encourage him to support the mighty Tigers.

I want him to know, if these guys can play in the NRL... then he too can make it.

You basically miss every single point being made on this forum by every poster. Every single one, no matter what thread it's in. Winston just never gets it.

We live in Dragons territory now and my mate is a Souths fan but born in the area, he gives me heaps and all I have back is "You really should be a Saints fan remember, youre just a Rabbits import" LOL

Stay calm, stay calm
It’s just dumb.
I started following Balmain because I liked the colours and the mascot.
First time I went to Leichhardt was in my late teens and I was astonished at what a shithole it was.
Having said that, I’ve entered my 5th decade or supporting and following the useless club.
Nothing fake here…
