AFL Player?

Karmichael Hunt or Israel Folau. I hope we never become a club that makes bs big money signings for novelty purposes, I'd rather sign guys who have proven they can actually play.

Those 2 would need a year in reggies though to remember how to be men…..no seriously, AFL players are dead set pussies.

I'd take Jack Riewoldt. Simply because he has a great boot on him, can land goals from anywhere, and he's already accustomed to playing for the Tigers.

ever since hunt went to AFL i said there is not a single AFL player who could make the transition the other way. lance franklin is in my opinion the best AFL player, but i doubt he has the pace needed for NRL. i did actually go from aussie rules to rugby league and the two things i noticed were 1\. how much bigger everyone was and 2\. how much faster!

the first thing i would consider is whether or not the guy can tackle. im not sure any can. what AFL players would bring are great hands (rugby balls are so much better for handling believe it or not) and kicking. practically any player of AFL standard would get a 40-20 given a chance, but they are built differently and apart from a few (eg; campbell brown, jonathan brown, beau waters) i doubt many could take the knocks week in week out.

if he could handle the knocks, nic natanui would be even better than the daine laurie we all wanted. amazing skills and he would offload like SBW, and he is actually amazingly fast for a guy of 2m or so.

Dane Swan and Chris Judd would be the 2 who I think are tough enough to play league at a high level.

swan is a fantastic player. next time i watch a collingwood game (provided EM isnt commentating!) i will check him out but i couldnt give a reasonable opinion right now. great at fullback maybe?
judd would be good, but his shoulders (i think both) have been strapped like a mummy since day 1\. hes tough, but i dont think his shoulders would take it.

… cant believe how seriously ive taken this thread!!

Hayden Ballantyne from Freo only because he is really annoying and gets into his opponents face ALOT
He is actually 'The Pest of the AFL'

You guys know way too much about AFL and probably can't really be counted as WT supporters. The fact you even know a players name and what club they play for sickens me to the stomach.
Please close this thread, as anyone who knows anything about sport or in particular "The greatest game of all" knows no AFL player could ever switch codes and do any good, not even to park football standard.
So it's a waste of time even considering it, especially on a RL forum.

i know lots about a lot of things… as im sure you do as well. ive been a tigers supporter since 1982, and yes, played aussie rules and rugby league, so i think i may have an opinion on this subject that comes from actual experience.
also, if you read my post, you would see that i also agree that there is no player in the AFL who i think could make the change, even if he wanted to.
i think it is an interesting subject, so i posited who MAY have the potential to do so...

saying people like me sicken you to the stomach is a bit harsh! im not that bad really!

People! Please, a true nrl fan would not nominate anyone from that "game". Cmon!

I think you would all be happy if we grabbed this guy from the AFL.
