After Benchy, another senior player must be dropped.

His work coming off our line is awesome. But you're probably right, we should drop any player who drops a ball or misses a tackle.

Steadily, the numbers grow. This bloke is gonski ability wise. Michael Gordon made him look like an absolute statue today when he went past him. But I dare not overly criticise, as I know it was only 3 years ago he had a hip injury. He needs time apparently.

Michael Gordon beats plenty of players week in week out. Deceptively quick, great mover and strong. There wouldnt be too many players playing first grade if you got dropped for missing gordon.

He was good tonight. He will get more and more opportunities and get better each week as we bed our structure down and our edge gets stronger (sirro returns, patterson improves). I don't think we would of had one week where our structure has been the same from week to week.

Those of you supporting Chris Lawrence, we're 10 minutes into this game against the sharks and he's missed one easy 1 on 1 tackle and then made a regulation knock on in an attacking position.

He'll make more missed tackles cause his defense is poor and makes too many errors!

You guys have no idea if you think he has good defense. It's more like a turnstile. And his attack? Still as a wooden plank!

When your other suggested combo is Lulia/Simona, you're damn right plenty of people will back Lawrence.

Have you seen Lulia play? Honestly, list his qualities that you think are superior to Lawrence.

The problem with Lawrence is he's not really doing what we need him to. He's playing as a backrower and has done all season. All he does now is take hit ups. He's not trying to go around people or set up his outside man. When he gets the ball 90% of the time now he tucks it under his arm and hits it up.

And he has made some good metres, but really your centres should not be in the side for making metres. That's the forwards' job. You want you backs to be threatening the line, creating space and yes also helping out to work it off our line a bit too.

He hasn't showed any pace, and his lateral movement and decision making is still highly questionable. So why not play him closer to the ruck. To be honest i'd rather have Lawrence in the back row and Paterson in the backs.

Well he hasn't had a bad game all season and I can't recall Rowdy getting outplayed by any centre like he was in the last 2 seasons

No he will never be the 2010 version ever again , but he is filling a role

I say he stays until you can find someone far better , and that's not going to happen in 2014

ok every one wants to drop Lawrence I would say yes if you had a better player to replace him with so until we do DROP OFF PLEASE

I don't like bagging the opinions of others, but some are farcical.
Lawrence is playing strongly at the moment, and is so far from being dropped it is ridiculous to contemplate.
Every one drops the ball.

We are playing a defensive structure that is up and in, and we are most susceptible at centre and wing, that is where sides will beat us. They are going to get caught there, same as the heavy slide structure gets beaten with inside balls snd unders line.
When Lawrence (and others) rush up snd shuffle in and come up with no one, they have not necessarily made an error

I have had the knives out for Chris in the past, I wont hide from the fact, nor that that more recently I have put them away now he is finding some kind of form…

Goose, I agree with your evaluation of our defensive structure, its spot on, but Chris is good for a couple of dreadful decisions per game. I dont know if he is making the decision rush up too late sometimes, way too early others, but he often reacts not as an efficient part of the structure but to its detriment... Outnumbered you have to hedge your bets and pick a man and try and force the play, but in many cases if he rides the play in the line he could buy time for the inside defenders to sweep... he isnt just firing out of the line but also in at attackers not even his number, and being exposed in that time frame before the playmakers have made their decisions.

The only reason I would like to see Chris moved on at present is due to performance vs pay grade, but thats not his fault on many levels... He is improving, something I once doubted he was capable of, and I am happy for him, but he needs to get a grip on his defensive choices.

We can see it, other coaches can too. If he can be routinely targetted for a predictable rush out of the line, he will cost us games against the top sides.

Ok Ok…

I take back my comment about Lulia over Lawrence. LoL...Probably the anti lawrence stance getting to me a bit or maybe its the late night dooby's.

So lets keep Lawrence there for now but SURELY, most of you agree that we SHOULD be looking to bring in someone that will be a better attacking and defensive option that Lawrence, Look, he's a nice guy and all but unfortunately, he's just not up to the level we need to be any chance to win a comp. He's lost the ability he once had.

And the comment above that "If Lawrence wasn't backing up, we lose the Cronulla game" .....Mate, ANY centre would have been expected to back up and catch a ball in that situation!

He's turning into a Beau Scott kind of player. A backrower. Nothing more. Has he broken the line one this season?

I for one am not saying he should be dropped, merely moved to the forwards as that's how he's playing these days. I would rather Nofo in the centres and Koro on the wing and Lawrence at 11 than anything else.

At least Koro adds a lot in attack, metres and tries/line breaks. Lawrence simply doesn't offer that pace to break the line or run into gaps any more. Koro's defence isn't brilliant but it's no worse than Lawrence's either.

Lulia, are you kidding.
I agree Lawrence may not be the player he was a couple of years ago, but he is still a far better choice then Lulia. Hopefuly we have a young bloke comming through.

Chris is getting there , to treat him like a pariah is not on.

Comparing him to Benji is crap too , Chris in my opinion bulked up too much , the hip injury was devastating but I think his confidence is back and he will continue to improve.

I don't agree with slagging off players old or new , they all have their ups and downs but true supporters stick by their players its called support , I think that's why we're called supporters.

As far as mick growing a pair ? I haven't notice his voice change at all.

We have good back up throughout the club, except for the center positions.

Recruitment options for next year anyone?

Maybe not for next season , but I'm wondering if Potter may have Moltzen on a short list if and when he comes back
