After deciding on the Tigers, NSW star Luke Lewis changed hi

Does this also mean the Tigers aren't a premiership contender now or in the future

Maybe not in Lewis' career time. Many people believe that we peaked in 2010/2011, missed our shot and now will take a while to rebuild. Whereas Cronulla are on the rise **now** and a Premiership within the next 2-3 years beckons. Of course, whether they can take that opportunity or not remains to be seen.

And he made out that it was his decision so it looks good for him that GE chose the club

Sharks offered Over 100k a season more ten we could.. Lewis last year of his contract is supposedly worth 750k..nice retirement season for him. Smith is gone that's why they could offer the money sharks original offer was less then ours

Sharks management us terrible they have terribly backloaded contracts… Tupou has a 400k option in his favor for 2013 gallens last 2 years of his current deal is worth close to 1.5 mil...

God knows what carneys deal is worth

I'm glad Lewis is 'stoked' and so he should be, what with a Club prepared to give him that sort of absurd money for four years. There's no more depressing sight than watching a 33 year old failing to offer value for money.

God knows we've had the Tuqiri experience and'll be holding our breath that Anasta manages to keep his gross motor skills for a couple of years

Bullet dodged

Carneys deal is about $750k over 2 years.

1 year @ $250k, 2nd year @ $500k. Setup incase he Carney'd it up at Northies.

Well said.
It wld be the Lote "experience" x2.Lewis has had a lot of hard footy over many years & suspect he mite be good for 2yrs max..
Lote + Blair + Lewis all demonstrate the importance of growing our own & extracting full value during their peak years rather than providing a super plan for others in the twilite of their careers.
We shld be in a situation where we pay this sort of ridiculous $$ exclusively for a critical playmaker "fix" where we may be caught short ,but certainly not for yet another second rower!!
As CT said,we dodged a bullet bigtime & the Sharks may well have bitten themselves on Lewis

Many people?? Like…how many? You and.....?? That comment is not something that I have noticed much on here or anywhere else for that matter.

Maybe I should've said some, not many, but quite a few people have expressed that sentiment on here in recent times, you may have missed them. Don't ask me to recall when, I just know I saw the threads about it and yes, I do tend to agree. Perhaps Lewis thinks so as well, and that's why he chose the Sharks. Pure speculation of course, but I don't discount the possibility.

Mr Lewis has a history of agreeing to terms then reneging.

Says it all really.

Luke Lewis great history

Signs with bunnies- doesn't go
Stays with panthers- Asks for release
Goes to sharks- well we can't predict the future

anyway, if we signed Lewis it doesn't mean we are going to get any better, imo he isn't really that good. We have good players in the lower grades that can be better than him but just need a go.

Luke Lewis did not ask for a release.
Luke Lewis was pushed out of the club he loved,he wasnt going anywhere and had plans to build on a block of land in the area.
