*after game feed* vs the Knights

I get Nofa is the attacking focal on that side, but my problem with him is that he doesn't stay out on the wing, he always comes in, its as if he takes Jimmy out of the game by doing what JR is there to do. over and over again. Jimmy needs the ball, he at least runs straight and hard, nofa does that maybe 1/4 runs. It's infuriating.

My point being, i wish Nofa would stay on the wing, and allow Jimmy to be played into the match.

He comes in from his wing to take dirty hit ups - as is a winger's job. For JTJ to be played into the match the insides need to feed it to him.

AD has been throwing a cut-out to Nofo which worked in a trial but needs to be put away for now - it's not working and everyone knows it's coming. I'd like to see Jimmy get more ball but it has nothing to do with Nofo.

The standard block play often misses the centre for the fullback getting hit 'out the back'. As Laurie gets more familiar I'd expect that to happen more and Jimmy to get the occasional ball on an inside run.

I imagine this is why centres don't attract the high values they used to.

I thought both JTJ and Nofo looked like they might poke through the line when they had it - they just didn't get it enough.

GIVE JET More BALL

Its been 3 rounds and we havent had a proper taste of his speed

We have been teased

Talau is improving at his home centre, a lot to work on but i like it

Mbye offers jack didlly crap

Knights fans implode... Gold !!!

![Knights Supporters.JPG](/assets/uploads/files/1616968856414-knights-supporters.jpg)

The worst type of supporters, they will fit in well at the cess pits they are going to

One thing you can say about Tiger' supporters is we've built resilience over many hard years... These Knights fans are soft.

Knights fans should have plenty of resilience, they won 3 wooden spoons consecutive. Funny how losing to Tigers 2021 is the final straw, even though Knights made the finals last year and have some quality players to come back in.

Mbyes dummy half cameo wasn't great. I'd rather his millions be invested in assisting the reggies. Also wondering if Talau was ok. I noticed him limping on the sideline and then Mbye at centre when he completely fluff that sitter. Any news there? And God I wish we had an offload in us. I hate it when we get cut to pieces with offloads. Yet we almost never look for a support player.

I am very worried about Liddle. Something is not right. His strength has always been good crisp service. This year his passing has been poor. Too many high passes, behind the player. It is really screwing our attack.

Mbye is not the answer but his passes are very accurate, just very slow.

Count how many times Brooks has to catch the football over his head or out to the side.

Since garners shocker in defence round one he's made 80 tackles only missing two... very impressive. Really sat some blokes down too with strong shots.

Yup, he's really reacted to the coaching staff by the looks.

Just needs to keep doing this weekly.

Here is my take. We are a brand new team with different combinations its one thing practising in training and another executing in the heat of the game. A lot of criticism of aj but apart from a few errors he was no where as bad as last week. These are young players still learning at nrl level. Talau big improvement and good to see him blow up at luc for poor pass at critical time. Luc responsible for a lot of our defensive issues yesterday....we need someone who is going to protect brooks not leave him stranded.

Would like Cini over Kepoa, Simkin over Mbye, Tuki as well to add enthusiasm, speed and football nouse.

Cini would be worked over in defence.

Is it just me or did we find great metres with our shifts yesterday? Did the Knights compress more than usual? I was watching on my phone and couldn't tell.

I couldn't believe all the ball was going to the left. It needs to be a real focus to give him more ball moving forward. No point having a weapon like him if we aren't going to use him.

I do agree with giving the JET more ball, but I feel like we were really targeting that English kid on debut - targeted him well too.

2 things . The Frizell try , where brooks had 3 goes at Watson , and Frizell, was Because Luci was out of place , leaving a gaping hole on the inside of brooks , who couldn’t shut it down .

And the try before , I believe it was Pearce , was ? Mikalele fault . He came in on the ball player for no real reason , creating a massive hole for Watson again , to go through .

This is the stuff , Madge would have the Poos about , as it’s just concentration stuff , and a lack of trust in the person next to you .

A**lso the Tex Hoy try , was I believe , a lack of communication between brooks , and Talau , and brooks making the wrong choice . But really once he went in Talau and Kepoa needed to follow** .

Yes. Talau copping a bit of flak for going for the intercept ( wrong decision) but it was Brooks who was burnt on the outside leaving them short.

Not really , once he chose to go in , they’re supposed to follow . It was the wrong choice , but that’s the sequence of events , and really if Talau had jammed he was right there to stop it .Learning curve though . I’d rather cop that , than the highway BJ offered up rounds 1 and 2 .

Great to see Brooks bounce back. AD took control a lot and later in the game it seemed Brooks got more involved in kicking and seemed nice a relaxed about it. Nicely shared.

But I'd still like to see Brooks move faster, this jogging to the line before off-loading doesn't bother the defence. Other quality halves do this at speed and it gets defenders off their toes.

Daine is certainly a whiz kid! We need him sniffing around the ruck more for offloads particularly when the opposition middles get tired.

Just re JTJ needing more ball, the combinations are still a work in progress, these guys (halves and attacking players) need to clock up some games together and get used to how each other plays and what will work.
In saying that, Noffa's winning try was largely due to Jimmy running a nice decoy.

Edit: Meant to add that it was great to see some genuine passion and emotion out there today!

Ok here’s my take AD Laurie and Stef were standouts for me Brooks was improved, Kepaoa needs to go he needs time in Reggies to learn how to catch. I would move Mbye to centre he’s very solid there played there much of last year he offers nothing off the bench. Talau would go to Kepaoa’s wing and I’d give young Jake a run from the bench I’m sure he could handle 20 mins either side of half time.
I think Madge would be reluctant to change after a win but that’s how I would go we would be much more solid, another thing is obvious Joey should be nowhere near firsts unless we have massive injuries.

If anyone saw reggies be interested to see how Jake Tuki and Tuilangi went, Tuki looked really good in the trials hopefully him and Jake are pushing for that bench spot.

Edit forgot to mention give early ball to JTJ clearly looked frustrated at the lack of ball, give him quality early ball and not doubt the jet will have lift off.

Sorry @Russell
Lids looks like he is playing with no confidence. I know he is coming back from long-term injuries, but he looks slow and his passing has deteriorated.
He is one of my faves but I think we need to bring in Jake.
I would start Jake and carry lids on the bench.

Chillin’ after the victory

Not being negative but why does nobody mention Laurie's poor defence at the back?

Does not even look like tackling people out in the open (not so bad in the line).

Needs a lot of work in this area and quick.

Glad we got him but. heaps of upside ...

His defence is very good as is his positional play.

His positional play is BUT that makes it worse.

His defence out in the open when a break is made is not very good at all imo.

However, you keep believing it is.

Not many FB have stopped B Moz or Frizell one on one that I’ve seen

I cannot agree regarding M'Byes passing being accurate. His dummy half passing hit the deck behind runnners on multiple occasions. The period he was at 9 was when we lost control of the match and conceded 2 tries, the lead and momentum
