Mbyes dummy half cameo wasn't great. I'd rather his millions be invested in assisting the reggies. Also wondering if Talau was ok. I noticed him limping on the sideline and then Mbye at centre when he completely fluff that sitter. Any news there? And God I wish we had an offload in us. I hate it when we get cut to pieces with offloads. Yet we almost never look for a support player.

I am very worried about Liddle. Something is not right. His strength has always been good crisp service. This year his passing has been poor. Too many high passes, behind the player. It is really screwing our attack.

Mbye is not the answer but his passes are very accurate, just very slow.

Yes I remember when he used to replace Farah for short stints how everyone was banging on how much better and faster his service out from dummy half was. Now he’s suddenly turned into Farah passing slow and and even worse off the mark - what the hell has happened?

Watched the game a 2nd time

Liddle service from dummy half is terrible & is causing all sorts of issues with Brooks & AD. He either gets that sorted or Simpkin needs to be given a go. Sure his run and effort in defence is high but geez his passing is lacking when it matters.

Lucy the Manly game sucked for us fans. He is not playing well. He has a dig sure but his runs are few and far between, his ball handling is poor & so is his options. His defense is creating problems as he slides middle of park rather than hold his position. 90% of all issues on the left are created by this as we get out numbered or it forces Brooks/Backs infield as well.

JTJ looked promising he needs more miles in the legs and keep giving him early ball.

Nofa run straight he did it in the 2nd half and was the best 40mins of the season by him.

AJ feel sorry for, he needs gloves or new hands. Outside of that he is trying. His runs are getting us forward, he has abit of size and nip to him. His defense isn’t bad either once inside reads well. His hands just need fixing. He at least caught 3 bombs which is the most since he cane into grade.

Tamou was ineffective. He didn’t have a hitup in the 1st 8mins of the game. Infact it took 4 sets for a prop to touch the ball a 2nd time in Musgrove. Our forwards have potential but geez they need a kick up the butt except for Twal and Stefano. They are both digging in.

Kepeoa out next week. Talau to the wing, Mbye to centre, Simpkin into the 14.

The team will be better all round for it.

Liddle's ball service has been off to start the season, not sure what the problem is there. Mbye'ss service is noticeably worse though, he's so slow to pass the ball it's not funny.

I noticed Talau came off injured late and couldn't walk properly - anyone know if it was just cramp or something more sinister?

I like the fact Nof goes in search of the ball and takes some pressure off the forwards, hope Jimmy Jet starts to do the same.
Maybe he's shy, and being the new kid, doesn't want to throw his weight around yet.
One way or another, Madge has to start looking at plays to get him more involved, the earlier in a game the better.

It's slow but it's not going behind players though. Simpkins service in reserve grade was excellent all game long...

Don't want to be too negative but there's a few things we need to improve on. I noticed we had a staggered defensive line on kick chases multiple times, we struggled to put knights players on their back in defence and we also couldn't stop the offload

Not major things but it all adds up over 80 minutes and makes life a lot harder. Hopefully they work hard on it!

A wins a win it’s good to get points on the board but let’s be honest Newcastle would of struggled to beat the bulldogs yesterday

no doubt they were down on troops and plenty of errors.
However you can only deal with the cards your given.

You could see how nervous they were in the last 15 minutes
Too come back once they hit the front was sensational, showed some ticker.

Liked the way we wrapped the ball up and limited the off-loads. Knights had a patch in the 2nd half where they were generating 2nd phase play and started making me nervous, but again we stepped up and stifled it for the most part.

Not being negative but why does nobody mention Laurie's poor defence at the back?

Does not even look like tackling people out in the open (not so bad in the line).

Needs a lot of work in this area and quick.

Glad we got him but. heaps of upside ...

For mine, it has actually been his defence Ive been most impressed with. For a small body, he has been impressive and his positional play has been perfect. To me that has been as impressive as his attack.

5150 - you hae misunderstood, I'm not talking about general defence and defence in the line.

I'm talking about when a player in the opposition makes a line break and Laurie is left on his own at the back and is isolated.

He doesn't even get himself in a position to tackle let alone make the tackle.

All other aspects of his game are fine, this is just something he needs to work on.

To take it from the French, if the first 12 can't stop him why should the No.1?

Imo the money balls are running around in reserve grade at present waiting for a call up in the not to distant future .. this is where the added success will come this season. A couple of hard running forwards ..a ball playing forward (not before time) ...and a dynamic No9 .

The forwards really done a job on Klemmer and kept up with Newcastle's forwards all game

Full marks on that score.

I disagree with you on this one. For mine, that is not JTJ's game. Of course he can and will do a dirty run where needed but that is not his strength. You can tell JTJ, knows his game inside out and he gets himself in perfect position about 5-10m behind the line and slightly outside his opposite centres shoulder. THat we he hits the defence at speed and his opposite has to commit to a side. JTJ knows what works for him, its a matter of giving him what he wants/needs. We did twice yesterday and he looked dangerous immediately.

Don't you just love a win? Gives you hope for the future.

What also gives me hope for the future are some of the new guys in the team. AD is looking good and his kicking is solid.

Laurie and Stefano look like gems, if we can nurture them along and protect their contracts there's some long term quality right there.

Talau is starting to hit his straps and despite some ordinary kicking in game 2 I actually think Brooks has been way better without Benji.

I like all our forwards, with a bit more work and experience they're going to be a very good pack. Lucy can be a bit loose but I'm hoping he learns from Joey's dropping that he's only as good as his last game.

Parra will be hard but if we turn up we're a show.

Credit where it’s due if Kepoa doesn’t bomb a try and knock on with the touch line open we flog Newcastle. Mbye bombed a tricky one but should have scored.

If we correct where our weak areas are the team will be vastly improved. It’s the same areas players letting us down. Madge has to act like he did with BJ. Good teams attack weaknesses like the Raiders and Roosters.

Eels will do the same we got away with it vs Newcastle who played poorly and should have been pumped by 30.

Fair enough, I'm not as scholarly as others on here and I generally don't comment on things I don't know or have little understanding of ( even though Evil Homer encourages me to say dumb shi... stuff).
That being said, it's probably safe to say we agree that Jimmy needs ball and hopefully the team's more composed from here on in and can follow tailored plays to accommodate the strengths in our side. Surely the coaching staff are working on this stuff.
That aside, with the speed in JtJ and DLoz, would love to see us turn the opposition around with early kicks, keep em guessing, turn the screws, or even better, score Tee-Aah-Why's.

Edit: Yes, I know that spells the singular form.
