How’s the marketing for LM’s announcement going?

I don’t know about anyone else but I’d certainly rather both JAC and AJ over one LM for the same both would improve our back 3 immensely...

Howerver I have it on good accord from a trustworthy inside source Dr. do little LM will be roosters long term fullback with teddy back to the tigers on a 1.5m 10 year deal woow hows that guys👍👍

At the end of the day, Maguire's neck is on the line. If he can't take this club to a finals berth in the next couple of seasons, he will be back at Centrelink.
So if he reckons AJ is going to improve this team, I'm happy enough to see how it plays out. I've always thought he was an OK footballer.

Agree, Maguire needs a good year. But let’s not pretend AJ is our first choice. He’s the leftovers in a dry market and we need replacements for Marsters and Mullet man

We help Souths to get the Trell by signing AJ for maybe 600g a year. Now even if the Rabbits are kicking in that’s silly money. Our club is being run by madmen it would appear. Even if we can’t make our team stronger...why do we keep giving the other mob a leg up.

I am really over it. It would be nice to have someone explain the game plan, why we continue to give our competitors a leg up. I might be just dumb and don’t get the big picture

Where are you getting the $600k a year figure, supposedly $1 million over 3 years from us, souths kicking in $200k making it $1.2million over 3 years, that is a good win for the club

He'll be on 1m a season soon enough

If he is cheap and not hired to play fullback, sure, it's OK I suppose. But if South's get Arrow and LM, and we get this guy, and lost Matto and Robbie retired and others gone, lol, not good.

Couldn’t agree more. I’d rather see us commit to a youth plan for 3 years than keep buying the rejects from the well run clubs. We’ve resigned a couple of guys with potential recently.

Seriously what’s the point in your post? Attention seeking at best. Up there with buzz

Yeah, I was against it initially as I estimated he might be around the $500k mark, but if those figures are true, $330k a season is chicken feed really. We are light on depth in that position and he can play FB as well, so agreed...I'd call it a win.

So does that leave us with around $950k - $1 Million to spend on the last 3 spots?

Personally, I'm not excited about WT signing Alex Johnston as I'm not really a fan, and can't see the hype. I see him in the same light as Jennings, I.E. nothing special.

Watch some highlights. Jennings fell over the line on all his tries. Johnston scored many length of the field tries. Says it all.

My cousin is a mad Souths supporter and member. She lives it. Christmas is always fun!! I remember her absolutely exploding about how bad Johnston was at fullback so I took a keener interest. What I remember seeing was not impressive. He seemed slow to the loose ball and was caught out in defence. I can’t remember any more particulars but I do remember thinking he was not a fullback.

4 last year, And picked up an injury. 8 the year before, He’s on the slide mate. Scored the majority of his tries when GI would attract 2-3 defenders.

Gotta agree Patriot. I think people are being a bit harsh on Johnston. He's a real burner who can run the length of the field and there are not many current Tigers who can do that. Brooks? Can't think of any others.

Might be the case but he is no Robert Jennings. Completely different players.
