Not sure what to make of these rumour's about AJ signing with WT again .... Justin Pascoe replied to someone on twitter asking .....Surely the @WestsTigers wouldn't be dumb enough to take Alex Johnston

Pascoe's response was .....We will only make decisions that are favorable to Wests Tigers - **no one else**.

Pascoe/co and Politis/co must be on the same page when it comes to letting players go who are viewed as being not committed to the club...no matter how good they are.

Pity we haven't won back to back premierships like Politis and his crew

Following Politis' path could be quite tricky for Pascoe.

The other difference is Politis and his crew make sure they have able back up before they let these players go

Who is to say that our coach doesnt feel the same about our back up in that position?To my knowledge Latrell certainly hasn't been replaced by someone new to the club of equal quality, which seems to be the problem that some have with how our club has managed Matterson leaving.
Looks like any excuse to throw stones to me.

You haven't watched Billy Smith play .....Latrell's replacement at about a 1/5 of the price

No one is irreplaceable. One player lost is another players opportunity at all clubs. Especially for those who want to be there

Not privy to what players are paid - I'd be guessing only - and the like replacement you have named is like in position only at this point of his career.

We got freed up cap space 400k roughly and we got rid of a sook and someone that would have disrupted the whole team and caused havoc.

I would say that is favourable to the Wests Tigers myself.

Understand what you are saying but these days it doesn't take this long to put pen to paper regardless if you are swapping Mgrs. Just the fact that South CEO stated today that he will deal with the LM situation after he complete the Arrow deal. If he was coming here he would of just said today they are not interested in LM but he didn't and basically confirmed there interest so its just a matter if time until he is a bunny (I would of liked him here but :man-shrugging: ). If I was LM I would want to join my new team ASAP so I am not behind the playing group for preseason.

On the Alex Johnson situation I would be happy to have him here if it was not for big $$$ as he is better then we currently have and would not break the bank. Need to spend the money somewhere..

Long time lurker first time poster. Love the faithfull flying the flag But i Was down at concord the other day sorting out my 2nd year of family membership after marrying into a tigers family and it was like walking into brookvale oval/manly leagues circa 1994, where do the players actually get taken go to sign on the dotted line? If we are bringing future starters here I am embarrassed. Had a look through where some of the west harbour boys were hitting the gym(?) and thougt the fitness first at N strathfield was the better option. I know the COE is coming but go look at concord, then liechart and then campbellown and get angry at the fact shiny vynil stickers keep getting put over the same block walls by the same contractors year after year saying this year will be different cause we have player x. AJ is a quality player that was effectively an understudy to GI and we need a specailist fullback not someone that needs game time in the position before moving on (LM).

ALSO the PNG Kumals have the same national colours so hope to see some more PNG jerseys through the west!

Hence all the talk of Johnston and Gagai. As mentioned I have a good mate who is a bunnies supporter, he calls us the "Chinooks" the ones that Souths rejects(Madge, McQueen, Jennings and soon to add Johnston and Gagai to that list) and he is not usually wrong.

People have been making the Jennings comparison. I really dont see it myself. Johnston can and will bust the line and go the length of the field. He can be a weapon not just a player making up the numbers.

Answer me this.

How much better is Johnston than Thompson at fullback.

Now compare that to Jennings vs our other wingers.

Jennings does not improve our team, Johnston does!

That’s the point . Someone showing potential to rise to the same heights as Matterson . Cam Murray , is a prime example of this when Chricton left Souths . Different players for sure , I’m more talking about impact on the game .

Yep agree with bringing Douehi home. He is a local and a junior and can play. Unless Souths lose Gagai, I am not sure where he fits in their squad.
