Alex Seyfarth #232

Ok that’s good to hear as based on your evaluation we should not have too much trouble making the top 8 in 2026.
Time will tell as 2026 is a new season for all players to prove their value.
?? There’s 30 players in a squad plus 6 dev players. Once again what you’re saying has zero grounding in logic …. For example we lost many games last year with 1 player being off thier game , most infamously the Naden game , and the Mason game . Youre only as strong as your weakest link . And at no point did I comment on any teams strength of squad . I commented on your outrageous statement around our top 3 players . It was extreme hyperbole , crossed with nonsense to win an arbitrary argument on a forum .

Competition for spots is only a good thing & I'm sure it'll make Seyfarth a better player. At the end of the day he's a loyal clubman who rejected rival club offers & tooks unders to stay at the club. Players like this help the club sign the likes of Luai, Terrell & retain the Bulas & the Taylans. There should always be spots for guys like that the club.

Right. It was because of players like Seyfarth that Luai, Terrell signed on and Taylan and Bula re-signed 🤣🤣🤣

Peak Magpie delusion lol

So you reckon your weakest players will lose you a game moreso than your strongest players will win you a game ?
It doesn’t work that way for teams such as the Broncos , Panthers, Storm, Raiders or any of the teams that made the top 8 in 2025 for that matter.
All I ever hear is excuses as to why our highest paid players cannot get us enough wins, when will the excuses stop and they actually get us more wins than losses ?

Defence wins premierships .....and is across your entire squad .....not the strongest or weakest team members

Of course that is true, but you also need to score points.
No matter how good your defence is you still generally need to score a minimum of 3-4 tries to win most games,

We scored 28 points a few times and lost footy games .....if we can't keep sides to under 28 .....our defence is the problem
Too many posters expect us to score 58 points and get into a scoring spree
The quicker we learn to defend the better

KPP is a very good defender, so he helps, but we are getting plenty of fan suggestions of having Royce and Bunty both in our top 17.
Not sure how having them both in the same team helps us defend better ?
Api struggled with plenty of missed tackles from playing far too many minutes each game in 2025, how does that improve with him being a year older in 2026 ?
To’a has never been a good defender, how does that improve in 2026 ?
Good attacking play including making line breaks and getting repeat sets helps fatigue the opposition and makes defending easier. This certainly wasn’t our strong points in 2025, it will need big improvement in 2026.
