STAR recruit Adam Blair has so far failed to make the impact at Wests Tigers to offset the departure of Andrew Fifita and Bryce Gibbs, according to statistics used to determine a player's contribution in matches.

The loss of Fifita and Gibbs to Cronulla, along with back-rower Simon Dwyer's career-stalling nerve injury, have left a huge hole in the Tigers forward pack as the trio were in the club's top 10 players last season based on Sports Data's Contributor Value Rating (CVR).

In addition, prop Keith Galloway and second-rower Gareth Ellis have played little football this season, while Blair's CVR is significantly down from 2011 when he was playing for Melbourne.

Advertisement: Story continues below According to the information supplied by Sports Data, which is calculated from a player's workrate, errors and involvement in attack, Blair's CVR per game for the past two seasons is 189.08 this season with the Tigers and 287.21 last season at the Storm.

Of the 23 players used by the Tigers this season, Blair's CVR is 16th per game and per minute.

In contrast, Fifita leads Cronulla's CVR per minute ratings, with a score of 9.88 - higher than captain Paul Gallen, whose CVR per game of 637.14 is the best in the NRL.

Gallen's CVR per minute is 7.9\. Fifita (7.92) was rated No.1 at the Tigers last season for CVR per minute, while Gibbs (5.72) was fifth.

Seriously??? Your using a some sort of computer programe to rate palyers? Going by this CVR crap Fifita is a better player than Gallen and Ellis. I thought April 1 was last week. CVR pfft

We blame injury and penalties yet here is the answer we are coming second last.
Do we have to put up with this for 4 years ? His not going to get better, he never was better.
What a con job, who was the imbecile who suggested signing this person.

That CVR has Gallen as the best forward in the comp. Fifita is only winning in the per minute ratings which isn't surprising if he is playing few minutes and going nuts when he is on the field.

Blair has a figure of 189.08 per game whereas Gallen as the best forward in the game has a figure of 637.14\. He had a figure of 287.21 per game when playing with Melboune.

I reckon those figures sound like a pretty good indicator of performance.
