I think frankly Maguire needs the team to lift a bit, get a better performance, before chucking a kid into the spine.

You can't win 1 out of the last 6, throw in a rookie and say "go on fix it up".

Shows we are definitely trying to sign a fullback

I'm glad to see Doueihi get a run in the centres, I think that is his best position.

He goes good there. I still think he’s a better fullback than Mbye but it appears we are looking to sign a fullback for next season so giving Doueihi more game time at centre makes sense

Its hard, I think Doueihi is the safer fullback but Mbye is better in attack. I'm glad he is getting a full games at centre though to see what he has there.

They’ll probably switch around at some point they’ve done it in a few games now.

Wow. Just wow.
My only hope is that the heated argument resulted in Madge’s finishing statement being you have 4 games to prove your part of next years team.
Could of even resulted in Madge taking the final month off coaching and letting the players play how they see fit.

Either that or Madge is preparing his resignation speech..

The elephant in the room is that technically we are still a mathematical chance to make the eight.... next week if results don’t go our way we are completely out of contention.

Definitely disappointed about the halves. I get that they want to farewell Benji but I’m sick of him being in the team, let him play our final game but Reynolds should be in his spot, either because he’ll be here next year or because we are trying to sell him

That’s a classy looking outfit , just the right balance to get the job done , top 8 here we come 😂😂

'selections to be made looking towards the future'

....yet we name: Marshall, ET, Packer, Reynolds, Lawrence and leave out of the 21: Blore (who was the only one trying to offload the ball last week) and Madden

Best move is Doehi to centre. Inclusion of Grant has given us a good chance of winning. I hope that AJ has settled over his debut first grade game and shows that he deserves a first grade spot.

As I thought, only one of two changes. The big one though, Marshall and Brooks swapping numbers 😳🔥🔥🔥

*shudders*

hopefully we see Tommy to the centres, AD to 6 and Benji left right out. can't see too much here that has to do with 'looking to the future'

I’d be surprised if Blore plays another game. Doesn’t look fit at all to me and has only been given limited minutes because of it. Had no pre season and coming off a bad injury it’s understandable.

Lol he completely chickened out.

Of what exactly? He never said there would be huge changes to the team.

He said he'd be looking to the future with his selections, and then he chooses a guy in the halves who isn't here next year, next to a guy who should have been dropped. All he did was change their numbers around.

Plays Grant even though he's not here next year. Plays Taylor even though he's not here next year whilst he omits Blore who apparently is a high priority re-signing?

Also, Mikaele and AD apparently need surgery so why is he playing them still?

It's bonkers. He's either run out of ideas or he doesn't care lol

He needs to leave him there this game to see what he has.

Like it or not brooks is part of the future for the next few years at this point. Benji shouldn’t be there for sure.

I am hoping Liddle gets bigger minutes this week, Blore doesn’t look fit enough to play more than 15 mins.

Who said they needed surgery? Some randoms on the forum? All players play through injury and deal with it in the off season, I don’t see any other clubs opting to give their guys early surgery. They’ll still be back in time for pre season.

There are not many first grade players that were not in the team last week that can be picked.
Maybe it is time to define the roles differently. Who is making the decisions and distributing the ball from the middle? Who is supporting when a player makes a break in the middle third?

I have a crazy idea. Maybe he is trying to win the game?

I totally understand the great gnashing of teeth here but with available players that is probably our best 17. I would prefer ET was Blore but blore was gassed after 5 mins last week.

I get it, Madges way of looking into the future is putting all our shit players on show. Might get some takers

They need to be shamed even more if that's what the players need.
