Alledged match fixing

You should be only able to bet on the H2H winner and 1-12, 13+

I don't think that's the biggest issue CB

The fact coaches name sides 5.00 pm Tuesday and then can make wholesale changes and hour before a game begins is the issue

How easy is it for info to get into the wrong hands in the modern day

We see it almost every day on the forum alone , bar anything else

Look at horse racing for example , can you imagine the uproar from both punters and bookies if a top jockey on a favourite was replaced by a first race rookie an hour before a race and they then stuck blinkers and a tongue tie on for the first time as well

David Williams - hasn't been seen in first grade since his betting scandal.
I read somewhere he put $60 on himself to be top try scorer - hardly an inside man job dealio, lol.

I heard he was betting on several of the Manly games but also he and Brett Stewart had a falling out and that one of them had to go.

Wolf man was suspended a single bet which as Demps said was on himself!
Don't know about further bets.

Betting and allegations of match fixing have been in Rugby League since the beginning.

They are still talking about Darcy Lawler in the 61 grand final and the bloke from Easts that was in underbelly from the 20's that fixed some results

regardless of how the investigation turns out, the reputation of the **silvertails** has now been well and truly **tarnished.**

Yeah, that was the Manly official damage control line to keep the Plebs. and NRL happy, they didn't want any further allegations getting out.I doubt they would ruin the NRL career of a kid because of a $60 bet on himself to be first try scorer.
I remember a game where a Manly winger dropped 2 or 3 simple bombs, threw a forward pass near his try line, commentators quipped "he was having a bad day". The coverage showed Brett Stewart walking over to him during an injury break after he dropped a bomb and having words. They cameras cut away so not sure what happened but a couple of days later a guy rang Graham Hughes Sports show and claimed to be in the crowd in the corner and he said he had never seen anything like it,he thought they were going to come to blows as they rubbed noses.
Hughes(may have been Tunks) said "what are you implying",guy said nothing just that Brett was not happy with the way he was playing, anyway the guys ended the call there obviously not wanting to go down that road.
With the Police and Journo's revisiting several Manly games we may hear more over the coming Months.

He only got a 2 game suspension, played after that.

Souths tigers game this year …Souths threw the game for certain ...don't kid yourselves ,anything you can bet on is open to a rort ...

It would explain a lot about that game. Souths looked like a Reserve grade team for the duration of the game
But it would be hard to get a whole team to play a full game as badly as they did .

Yeah,i think your correct but what happened after that?,sent to Coventry IIRC.

Edit…Telegraph said he was suspended for the remainder of the season but again IIRC that wasn't many games. I half expected him to bob up at another Club but not so far.

Is that the game where GNR bribed Inglis into going for a field goal when they were about 20 points behind? How much money did you blow on that one Gunther? :roll
