Two things stand out for me:

Was never about the money and wants to play finals. If the numbers are correct he's set to earn a massive upgrade money wise so to say it's not about the money is a bit rich.

Secondly Manly's roster apart from the Turbo brothers is pretty ordinary. I don't think even with an injury free Tom they'll make the 8. He goes down again they most certainly won't.

I know the story first hand and as a massive Tigers fan it’s an interesting one.

He is getting a big pay rise at Manly but was willing to take less at the Tigers to stay as he was comfortable here.

Hartigan is a ruthless and often disrespectful businessman and came through with a shocking first offer with a 24 hr deadline which Josh was angered by and therefore asked for an immediate release ... BUT... Hartigan’s work in recruitment this off-season makes me feel that oftentimes the best businessmen are ruthless and I think he is ultimately turning the club in the right direction.

Disappointing how it turned out though because Madge wanted to keep Josh and saw him as next in line to the captaincy.

That is not correct.

That is exactly how it played out.

Downvote me as much as you want, that is not how it played out. Josh showed himself to be chasing money and no spin you try to put on this will show otherwise.

You don’t know the story and never will. It is what it is and that’s the facts.

And don’t be surprised when obviously fabricated agendas by this forum or the club being forced down your throat result in forum members leaving, when I actually enjoyed posting my input on juniors etc. here. I remember you (or someone else with EXACTLY the same narrative) rolled out that story at the time and it prompted a lot of angst and anti club sentiment. But my memory is that a lot of information subsequently leaked including his signing fee that pretty much refuted this.

Wasn’t me, I wasn’t a regular poster when the situation played out, but that is the story.

Obviously there are those that are gonna seee the story differently from different perspectives and I absolutely respect that, I’m not here for an argument.

I couldnt be bothered going back to dig it up, but someone posted here the EXACT same narrative and over a short time it completely fell to bits, from memory over the 24hr deadline and other things.

I dont doubt that this is the story YOU were told but based on actual known facts, you are hearing a curated version.

Disagree mate, but that’s your take.

Disagree with what?

With it being a curated version.

Hate to be the one to break this to you but you are wrong.

Unless your name is Josh Aloiai or Hartigan, you ARE hearing a curated version.

I can literally say the exact same thing to you unless you’re Adam Hartigan.

You are objectively wrong.

I dont think objectively means what you think it does.

I said that you heard a curated version of the story. You said I was wrong. I pointed out that unless you are Aloiai or Hartigan you HAVE heard a curated version of the story....that makes me......RIGHT.

btw I have never claimed to have heard an uncurated version, I have pieced my opinion together based on facts and actions. You are the one basing on hearsay.

My info is not fabricated and I don't have an agenda, Josh was seeking more money and already had an offer from Manly when he approached the club with his demands. He was disrespectful in his dealings with the club as can be seen from his behaviour on social media. He was obviously offended at the valuation that was placed on him by the club and agitated for a release, he was granted this after Manly paid compensation to the Wests Tigers. It is time for him to move on and stop trying to rewrite history.

It wasn't about the money he's just getting 200 grand a season more at a team that finished below Tigers in 2020. Funny coincidence lol

He either is tiga4eva or has seen the same screencaps and thinks he is in the inner sanctum. tiga4evas story fell apart last time.

I am now grateful that Alioia left, it has enabled a solid cleanout with (potentially) better players, on less money in a better balanced side.

It is obviously the money.
If Tommy Turbo misses 10+ games (which seems likely due to his lack of hamstrings) Manly can't make finals, he is part of everything they do.

I honestly can't believe they have him at the price point they do and then also turned around and paid us a whack of money to get him early. I guess Des will be Des.

you have a short memory AT. Its not about the money. Its because JA only got 1 point in the best and fairest last year.

I hope Manly are more generous with the best and fairest or at least hand out a ribbon.

This is very inaccurate. Not even close to the truth

Sorry guys too lazy to post article.

Two things stand out for me:

Was never about the money and wants to play finals. If the numbers are correct he's set to earn a massive upgrade money wise so to say it's not about the money is a bit rich.

Funny I just went back and trawled through the old Aloiai thread to dig out what happened then. The difference in perspective on management and recruitment to now, in less than 4 months is incredible.

He’s bamboozled by stats . The same guy who thought Aiden Tollman was the best front rower in the game. Sometimes stats don’t tell the whole story .
