Two things stand out for me:

Was never about the money and wants to play finals. If the numbers are correct he's set to earn a massive upgrade money wise so to say it's not about the money is a bit rich.

Secondly Manly's roster apart from the Turbo brothers is pretty ordinary. I don't think even with an injury free Tom they'll make the 8. He goes down again they most certainly won't.

I know the story first hand and as a massive Tigers fan it’s an interesting one.

He is getting a big pay rise at Manly but was willing to take less at the Tigers to stay as he was comfortable here.

Hartigan is a ruthless and often disrespectful businessman and came through with a shocking first offer with a 24 hr deadline which Josh was angered by and therefore asked for an immediate release ... BUT... Hartigan’s work in recruitment this off-season makes me feel that oftentimes the best businessmen are ruthless and I think he is ultimately turning the club in the right direction.

Disappointing how it turned out though because Madge wanted to keep Josh and saw him as next in line to the captaincy.

This is very inaccurate. Not even close to the truth

This website may as well be named adamhartiganfanclub.com. You'll struggle to find friends here with a story like that.

It’s hard to argue with . He’s replaced Eisenhuth , Clarke , and Josh , with Tamou , Stefano and Joe O. 2 plodders and a guy who played 1 good season , to our now captain , an origin player off a down year , and the highest rated prop coming through the grades . And that’s just 1 position .

Matterson =>Blore

As of today . Blore is considered an origin player of the future and Matterson is like a douchebag version of Aubusson. He will never play origin . Mainly cause he’s a knob . I reckon you’ll be regretting this statement by the end of 2022

REgretting this statement? Not aware I actaully made a statement, regardless I think you may have misinterpreted.

I was merely pointing out that under Hartigan, Matterson was replaced with Blore, which is a good result.

I think Matterson is a very good player but with a pea heart and questionable ethics. Blore has the *potential* to be a great player. Thats where I see them both at the moment.

I hope you can clarify so I know what it is I will regret in the future.

The way you wrote it made it look like you might have been saying Matterson was better than Blore. I think that is where the misunderstanding is.

Well, at this point he definitely is and if Blore turns out as good I will be very pleased. Over the moon if better.

Couldn't agree more. Aloiai is, in my opinion, trouble and troubled. Manly can have him. Good riddance.

Another lame, poorly written, FOXbait piece of rubbish article. George Clarke is obviously worried about hitting his quota this week.

Here’s the real story.

Josh and his questionable manager Tyran Smith asked for a big money upgrade based on an ok season from JA - we said no.

Des and Manly scrambled after AFB jumped across the ditch and were willing to pay overs to fill a hole.

Josh got paid, we’ve moved on with a SOO recruit in JO and now everyone lives happily ever after.

The end.

Everyone except Josh that is
Still trying to bag his old club by the looks of it
It makes him look like a goose

Move on Josh we all have

Our forward pack looks far stronger this year and will do very well without you
Thanks for you efforts but you have made your bed and now you have to lie in it

Now packer
You have one job to do this year
Just one

It's ok ...we are all used to your fubars now ...hehe

Would he hilariously poetic to see us make the eight this season and Manly miss out.

Tom Turbo goes down for an extended period they might be in for a tough year.

Im still a little hurt by Josh A leaving TBH.

I dont begrudge him going for the money as i have 5 kids and theres pressure to provide.

Could have been done with more class on both sides.

2021 is here now and we have a suitable if not better replacement.

I hope Josh or his friends are on this forum. They can pass on this message.

Thanks for your time here, you did well in the most part.

But you have moved on and your thoughts, concerns or story has zero relevance to the club and the fan base. You didnt earn legend status or the right to carry on.

NEXT.

I cant help but being a bit miffed too. Give him a chance at first grade, stuck by him through long injuries and the first chance he gets see ya later and starts giving us lip about wanting to play in the semis. He has gone to manly right not the storm???

That is the funny part: gone to Manly to play semis  . Far better chance of doing that here, this year and in the future.
The league really, really, really needs to sort out this contract fiasco (generally) - starting with no signing 12 months in advance crap. If you want security sign with your current club, or take a chance in the off season. They can do it on the quiet if they are not established enough to risk it, but it's a debacle at present.

It is obviously the money.
If Tommy Turbo misses 10+ games (which seems likely due to his lack of hamstrings) Manly can't make finals, he is part of everything they do.

I honestly can't believe they have him at the price point they do and then also turned around and paid us a whack of money to get him early. I guess Des will be Des.

They really seemed to panic about losing AFB, I just can't see JA filling that void.
Agreed Des is really of the "someone else will clean that up" school of coaching must have graduated same year as IC.

I think that i wanna play semis is code for, I took the extra money!! And while I'm feeling salty he may be good with ball in hand but man that kid has defensive issues good luck Manly.

AFB & JA have the same manager, its a game

I dunno about Aloiai, he sort of fits the Ava S mould to me (but better). Looked good in our colourw but I’m not sure he will have the same impact at manly. Basically a kamikaze type prop but a lazy defender

Will watch his career with interest, I don’t hate the man for taking the money and running, but I had him earmarked as a future captain of the club and it’s a bit disappointing with how it all ended

Also has a habit of dropping the ball cold when we have worked into the red zone (which doesn’t happen that often for us)
