Aloiai

I thought Josh played really good this year and on the back of that was chasing an upgrade which wa probably justified.

And the club offered him one. A generous one. It's not our club's fault that Manly offered ridiculous money, and we would have been mad to match it.

Tiga4eva - has become very quiet.

Suspiciously quiet IMO. Noticed something 2 days ago. @tiga4eva when asked by avocadoontoast if Aloiai is leaving, Tiga4eva's response was........"I’m not sure, but I seriously doubt he ***ever wants to pull our jersey on again***. He’s still contracted for 2021".

Curious turn of phrase, strangely prophetic? #ratintheranks?

EDIT: Just noticed @needaname had already made this observation. I was a bit late.

Here's a thought......Maybe @tiga4eva is Josh!!!! Da Na!!!!!!!!!!

He's been on the Forum for years Russ ...what did he post on the Forum when he was playing for Parra

Just a thought Hap.

The shame of it all is that these player managers are leading these individuals astray for their own gain. I am all for the club doing the best for the club, and the player manager doing the best for their client the player, but these player managers are shuffling pieces around the whole NRL for their own gain, not whats best for their client.

Amongst many other things, I think this control and power amongst player managers is th single biggest issue in the game.

Lee saying Josh won't be going anywhere unless the tigers get something favourable in return.

Very disappointed in his social media post.

Smith will be doing a ring around to his fellow player managers to see how many other of their clients are unhappy. That happiness can be had at WTs with a bright new shiny contract (and commission).

From his own client list, I'd take koala from Souffs https://www.sportsplayer.com.au/players

Ha, Taquele Naiyaravoro - what a blast from the past!

Might be player agent, not player

I can't see this ending well for all parties. The club, via Lee, shouldn't be shooting it's mouth off publicly but privately definitely play hard ball. Let JA come off looking like a brat which is hurting his brand.
A trade with Paseka would be a nice outcome

Aloiai is entitled to get the most amount of money he can i dont begrudge him that, if Manly want to give him 500-700K good luck to him. The carryon like a baby is what gets me, players just think they can throw tantrums and get what they want. Look at the contract's that we have that we would rather not have Mbye Packer Jrey, we have shopped them around but not takers so we have to cop it sweet.

Aloiai is no different we have a contract 350k is a lot of money in this climate of covid, normal punters are on jobkeeper or seeker, these self entitled morons like Aloiai, Moses, Matterson. Aloiai is a decent player but let's not kid ourselves he was probably the best of a bad bunch, imo he is lucky we offered him an upgrade at all. I really hope we stand firm on this we either get remuneration of money and cap space or a player we would like.

There’s nothing wrong with what Lee is saying as long as he backs it up. He’ll make the club look stupid if josh is released without any compensation.

I like the way Following the LM circus, Madge publicly stated WT will not be paying overs for anyone! I like the stance Lee is taking publicly on this Aloiai issue, just hope he doesn’t allow it to go further, which I’m sure he won’t. This is all about the culture and WT image that we all wanted changed. What does confuse me is why Pascoe isn’t the one leading this change in direction? Talking to a mate recently, he had all sorts of issues. His doc advised him to stop drinking coffee and it solved all his problems.

Tigers chairman delivers brutal truth

James McKern
Wests Tigers have cancelled a scheduled meeting with prop Josh Aloiai after he demanded an immediate release from his contract, then posted a meme on Instagram on Tuesday.

The bombshell call caught the Tigers off guard with Aloiai having one year remaining on his current contract with the club.

Aloiai, on a reported $350,000 salary, wants out in the hopes of joining Manly on a richer deal, but despite his brutal demands, Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis has refused to budge and bit back at the star.

After Aloiai said he would “never wear the jersey again”, Hagipantelis was adamant the club will refuse to grant him a release from the final year of his contract.

Funny, I can see it ending very well for us if we stick to our guns.

I really do hope we stick to our guns and not release him unless adequately compensated, otherwise screw him put him in reserves i still see 2021 as rebuild year so blood more young blokes.

No issues with him wanting more money, you do get limited time to make the most of this career so go for what you can. Carrying on like a dickhead because you want out of your contract though, get stuffed.

Paseka is not coming back . Really close with Suli , who would have issues with us because , everything is always someone else’s fault . I’m sure there’s a player in thier system we would covet .

Wests Tigers star Josh Aloiai mocks club in meme after lawnmowing sledge
By WWOS staff

Wests Tigers star Josh Aloiai has mocked his club over a feisty sledge by chairman Lee Hagipantelis as the prop seeks an immediate release.

Last week Aloiai requested a release from the Tigers and his $350,000 contract to make a move to Manly Sea Eagles next season.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Aloiai rejected the Tigers' offer of a $450,000 per season, two-year extension from 2022, and was seeking over $600,000 a season. He also reportedly texted Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe that he'll "never wear the jersey again".

Needless to say, Aloiai's demands to be released were not welcomed by Hagipantelis.

"As far as we're concerned he can mow the lawns at Leichhardt and Campbelltown and paint the sheds at Concord," Hagipantelis told News Corp.

"He's a contracted employee at the Wests Tigers for 2021 and under the terms of his employment he'll be remaining at the club." Aloiai chirped back at Hagipantelis with a cheeky Instagram post. On Tuesday evening he fired up at the club boss by posting a homemade meme on his Instagram story.

Looking at Josh’s profile, who are West Tigers? It astounds me how many people involved with Rugby League get our name wrong. I’m not surprised he’s receiving bad advice looking at Smith’s amateur website.

Because Lee has a higher profile and carries more weight than Pascoe does by nature of the fact that he sponsors and fetes such a wide spread of the NRL landscape. He is widely liked and respected.

For once we have a club chairman that may actually have balls to ride this to the end.
I totally agree with the Clubs approach on this .... unless we receive some advantage out of this release HE IS STAYING!

Josh asking people to judge him on his character not what the media is saying..... his character was on full display with that photo last night. Plus his wacky political views, his defence of Erin Molan and more the bloke clearly isn’t very level headed

Would not want Paseka back.
Now Josh Schuster would be a great pick up.
