Aloiai is not worth the angst. Let cool heads prevail get him out of the Club and have Manly provide the player we want in return.

If we do that, it will happen again next year with someone else like it did Matterson and Ivan before that.

St George and Melbourne manage to hold onto to “unhappy” players without it being front page news.

Aloiai made it front page through his own airing of his dissatisfaction.

Imo his time at the Club is over. There is no coming back from what he is reported to have said yesterday.

Can we keep him away from the other player but prevent him from leaving his contract? So he can do nothing all year ? Not even train. I suppose that's a legal danger? That would be my ideal situation though. Let him not train and deteriorate. No player will try it again with us

I don't think the second grade would train with the NRL side regularly?

Sounds good!

Really shows the lack of respect for the club these boys have.

Havent Seen the Meme, however the club isnt without fault TBH

We should be locking up the players we want to keep.

It cant be easy hearing that "This player and That" keeps getting offered ridiculous $$$. I could see how Aloai, Nofa, Luch etc could feel under valued.

If the players are being told by their manager they will get more elsewhere and to hold off till November 1 what can the club do if they put what they think is a fair value on them?
His contracted to this club for another twelve months the clubs timeline in dealing with that is fine. You would be nuts to try and tie a player of his standing up any earlier than that - he is not Jason Taumololo.

And if Josh was holding off for November 1, it's quite obvious that contact was made by other clubs to him (his management,) prior to then if WT were trying to get a deal done.

My point is this does not happen in Melbourne they’d have the same value players

Average footballer, no great loss.
Probably doing us a favour

He might be average, but there's something seriously wrong at this club, too many players have wanted out, to many quality players are saying no to our big offers...my mail it's Maguire, he's not seen as a coach players want to play for, and that's from a current first grade mate of mine, but the love for Maguire will continue on this forum, this club has been on a downhill spiral, for years....has accelerated under Maguire

Maybe. But players have wanted out of WT like this before Madge was even here. I think it's deeper.

Lee saying Josh won't be going anywhere unless the tigers get something favourable in return.

Very disappointed in his social media post.

Probably because the self absorbed twats think they are doing us a favour by playing with us. Things have to change.

We tried to lock him up and gave him an upgraded contract worth $450k which in my opinion is extremely generous for someone who has had half a good year since he has been here. He’s carrying on like a goose because manly have offered him $700k. We would be able to get all the players we want if we are willing to pay them $250k more then what they are worth. But that just takes us back to what Ivan did with us.

Only caught the end of Lees interview but he sounds pissed about the photo josh posted. Certainly hurts his chance of getting a release so not a very smart move from him.

Vossy is backing Lee and the tigers on this and it sounds like most people are too. We need to show everyone we won’t be used as a doormat anymore

Very disappointed in his social media post.

Smith will be doing a ring around to his fellow player managers to see how many other of their clients are unhappy. That happiness can be had at WTs with a bright new shiny contract (and commission).

The bloke has stuck with us through injuries, drama, multiple coaches and has put up with a lot.

We don't know for sure that he even said that or exactly what has happened. We can only speculate.

What we do know is that we have a bonehead Chair that seems to be quoting the 1985 edition of Negotiating for Dummies.

The irony is you draw conclusions about our Board/ CEO and chair and yet you have no evidence either. A tad hypocritical methinks.

The Chair's the only one playing this out in public.

The words "I'll never play for the Tigers again." must have come out of my nether ring then.

Did he phone up a radio station or a journo and say this?

No.

I don't know about you, but most normal people would ropeable if their bosses started selectively leaking private and confidential conversations about our job to the media.

To top it off, we have our Chair, who is the head of a law firm, shooting his mouth off and publicly proposing breaking a number of workplace laws and maybe even facing a libel case.

It should come as absolutely no surprise that we've turned into the club that nobody wants to join or, now, even stay at.

The thing that smells fishy is his manager Tyran Smith, who also manages AFB.
AFB leaves Manly for a big upgrade, that leaves Manly short a prop but Smith know he can get JA an upgrade at Manly.
Player managers are a huge problem for the NRL.

His "best mate" leaked details of the negotiations on a public forum so it would get out and paint the club in a bad light.
The club is defending their position and have every right to.

They better not let Aloiai get an early release I’ll be fuming

I don’t think they will.

**Problem is the situation becomes untenable, he has friends at the club who will back him potentially creating a toxic culture,** a player swap is the best outcome but we never seem to be able to arrange one.

And this is the reason why we always have to roll over and let them go. Very few of our players seem to leave gracefully and us trying to make them stay just threatens to stuff up team harmony, which is way more important than keeping one player.

Not doubt this will happen again with Aloiai, we will be forced to let him walk because the situation will just get so bad and be played out in the media all off season once again. It's just like Matterson all over again, but worse imo. I'd expect it from a mercenary like Matterson, but I never expected this sort of behaviour from a guy like Aloiai. It's really disappointing.

Note to Wests Tigers management, can we please not sign any more supposed Christian players again...ever!

Not every player behaves like a pork chop, we want those who don’t, the others can take a hike.
Eventually we will win out.
