Clubs have been sacking players and making them stand down from the NRL until their contracts are finished for along time.

Saints did it to Gordon Tallis
Bulldogs did it with Sonny Bill
Parra did it with Jamie Lyons

I think "sack" is the wrong word here. They just enforced the terms of the contract and refused to pay the player if they didn't want to play.

Maybe your right and they didn’t sack them but none could play League in Australia until their contracts were lapsed and their contracted clubs did not have to pay them.

That’s what we should be doing if he refuses to train and play for us.

Yeah, if he refuses to turn up just stop his payments until he does.

This thread is getting out of hand -

The facts are that Josh asked for a contract pay upgrade. We offered an upgrade but he and his management didn't like it so they went fishing for more money.

Manly took the bait. Which I have no problem with.

What I have a problem with is the lack of respect that he's shown the Wests Tigers organisation and how his management has played games across media.

We nurtured and helped Josh hone his skills over 5 years and stood by him through all his injuries.

To throw mud in our face by saying that he'd never wear our jersey again and then post a childish instagram meme is rubbish.

@italian_stallion you're either new (and have no idea) or you're a stooge.

The Tigers have always considered our players, sometimes to the determinant of our club.

Listen all I was doing was posting some information that I thought was a bit interesting, how mature of an individual to call someone a stooge on a forum. Pretty pathetic if you ask me

But what can the club do if he does turn up but brings an abhorrent attitude and proves to be a huge distraction to his teammates?
Stick him in RMC completely away from the top squad?

Make him mow sand hills every day

Tbh the lawn mowing comment was totally unprofessional. Nothing wrong with club playing hardball, but never at any point did the Storm revert to schoolyard rubbish like that with JAC. So why do we? Well for one thing, our Chairman is a moron.

Since the manager has to come up with an offer to WTs, it may well be that a player from his stable or the client of another manager is offered. We have an NRL spot and some money so the opportunity could be attractive for a good young player.

Not entirely disagreeing with you but the Storm didn't have anything to respond to because JAC never added fuel to the fire.
Would have perhaps been better to say something along the lines of "We will be talking with Judas as to why he would be making such comments and taking appropriate steps to ensure the Wests Tigers brand is not brought into disrepute.'

This looks like it was all orchestrated by Tyran Smith. He got AFB a mega deal with the Warriors which started the chain reaction. Manly are in desperate need of a replacement and the only way to entice him away from the WTs was with a deal that he knew we would not meet. Then came all the rubbish to try to force an early release. The system allows it and out club has buckled before.

At what point did JAC Send an SMS stating he had no desire to ever wear the Jersey again?
In fact I would suggest that at no point has JAC dumped on anyone at his club , Or the club itself... (Even though his intentions to get better paid are much the same)

Chalk and Cheese - Even you can see that... Surely?

A client receiving a larger contract means a better commission. If you involve two or three clients moving it's party time. The only sticking point is if the club losing a player doesn't play ball. If that happens you are likely to get the bat inserted.

Suggest please but before you do go back a number of pages in this thread and read the newspapers - they reported it initially and it was front and centre on their websites.

The 2 cases are totally different. Aloai is contracted to WT and JAC is not. Chairman had every right to make the comment he did. This Matterson all over again. WT have to draw a line in the sand. JAC was never really interested in coming here unless silly money offered.

I think that's exactly what "Chalk and Cheese" Means...
You seem to be agreeing with what I said - Which, to spell it out to everyone missing it....
Was disagreeing with our stance on Josh Aloiai being likened to the stance the Storm too With Addo Carr. Addo Carr was a thorough professional throughout the process, Unfortunately - the same cannot be said for Aloiai.
