Can someone explain to me what "sacking" him and terminating his contract does for us?

I assume it only allows him to just get a new contract at Manly without us receiving any commercial benefit?

If we sack him:

1. We get his salary cap space back in our cap for 2021
2. He is ineligible to play for any club in 2021

So no, it means he loses a whole year's pay and footy and we can spend his cash elsewhere

Moses Suli was released by WT signed with Dogs and after 28 days was sacked then signed with Manly so why was he able to play?

Like I said , we benefitted by getting that salary off the books , and not having it come out of our cap, just say , he gets stood down for a fight at the pub for example . We’d have to apply for the money allocated in the salary cap during that period to be taken off the cap .
But because we benefit from freeing up that cap money , we don’t then have a right to stop him from working elsewhere. We can apply to the NRL if we feel strongly about it , but at the end of the day , it’s up to the NRL. Most of the time I doubt the previous team would care .

Had JAC said I’ve had enough I don’t want to play for Belly Ache anymore we could have got him for 2020. But he was advised well and got his earn.

The rules need to be changed ASAP to protect clubs and their supporters.

The facts are that Josh asked for a contract pay upgrade. We offered an upgrade but he and his management didn't like it so they went fishing for more money.

Manly took the bait. Which I have no problem with.

What I have a problem with is the lack of respect that he's shown the Wests Tigers organisation and how his management has played games across media.

We nurtured and helped Josh hone his skills over 5 years and stood by him through all his injuries.

To throw mud in our face by saying that he'd never wear our jersey again and then post a childish instagram meme is rubbish.

When Moses Suli was a Wests Tiger he refused quite a number of times to attend training. His team mates volunteered to drive him from his home to training but when Suli arrived outside the training oval he would decide to not attend but instead sleep in his mate's car until his mate finished training and drove him home. By the way Suli joined Manly whilst still under contract with Wests Tigers. Sounds familiar?

He didn't join Manly while under contract with the Wests Tigers.
