The problem is I reckon we only have 1 shot at the moment. We are holding that money out for someone like Latrell or JAC. Maybe we could use a chunk of change on someone like Burton. To be fair the club purchase AD last year who is also expensive for the stage of career that he is at. AD though to me is a much better deal than Reynolds, Mbye and Packer.

Josh needs to realise one good season doesn’t make him a world class forward who should be getting huge money. A 10% upgrade from one good season seems pretty reasonable to me

Clearly Madge and hartigan aren’t going to pay players more than they’re worth and won’t even bother talking about it with the players, it’s a take it or leave it type deal.

His contract is modest, 10% is measly. And after November 1 he realised how much other clubs valued him

If other clubs wants to pay overs for him clearly tigers won’t stand in his way. They’ve been pretty set on not giving guys more then they’re worth

If Josh was that upset about it he should talk to the club about it I’m sure they didn’t mean to upset him, Madge is obviously a big fan of his but he’s had a lot of injury issues and only 1 good season can’t expect too much

Whilst Josh is highly regarded by a number of supporters a couple of Questions need to be asked
Is he a super star player? NO
Is he an injury prone player ? YES
Is 10% increase fair offer considering our Hamstrung SC situation ? YES
Is he irreplaceable as a player? NO

Will our recruiting team obtain a suitable replacement? DOUBTFUL

There are any number of players out there with the same ability as Josh.

Your statement is correct if you talk about the whole NRL, however, how many current WT players have the same ability as Aloiai?
Perhaps Tamou, Musgrave, and ????
While we need at least 5-6 aggressive props! We don't have enough aggressive props anyway, and Aloiai is expandable?:thinking_face:

A lot of people (me included) thought he could be captain this year. With Tamou coming next year, I'm hoping Aloiai and Tamou can co-captain. So yes please, encourage him to stay. Club needs him. Hope he signs.

This may be the inappropriate place for it, but I have a question, and it sort of relates to Mr Josh Aloiai.

I understand why we have to be careful and not post personal information on a public forum. But is there a way that we can, on a not-so-public forum?

Can there be an extension of this forum, (just a thread perhaps) where people can post all that juicy good stuff, but it's not open to the public? Have it so that only vetted members can view that thread (keep the journos out). I'm not sure how we could vet people, some people here have personally met others here, but I suspect that's only about maybe a dozen.

It might be a pipe dream, it may not be feasible, but worth asking.

Let's look at Mr. McIntyre's last 4 games (when he should've been at his best)

Round 16 v Penrith - 53 mins, 7 runs only 37 metres. 39 tackles but he missed 6! WORST IN TEAM.
Round 17 v Manly - 33 mins. 7 runs 65 metres. Only 15 tackles buT 2 INNEFECTIVE.
Round 18 v Rabbits- 38 min. 8 runs 64 metres. 23 tackles but 2 MISSED. WORST OF THE FORWARDS.
Round 19 v Melbourne- 14 mins. 0 runs! 12 tackles 1 MISSED.

Bloke was defensively weak passenger and a plodding passenger in attack. Just as he was every game he played for the Magpies. He's not up to first grade.

Stick to your stats, I'll stick to watching the game.

I think AD earned his pay packet last year. Along with Aloiai, Nofa and Luciano. Probably a few others on minimal dollars including McIntyre.

We must have a mottsa to spend for 2022 and this will make or break the club.

Wish I had confidence in the club to get it right but sadly they don’t have the runs on the board.

I assume that’s what the messaging is for. Previously I’ve asked what certain rumours were, when they weren’t being said and people will tell you. It wouldn’t surprise me if there were group messages going around to an inner circle that had been vetted although I’m certainly not part of one.

Spoke to Josh today and showed him what I posted. He said it was fine and he’s not embarrassed by it because it’s all true. He also said if the Club feel they’ve acted appropriately then they shouldn’t feel uncomfortable about it either. For those honestly doubting the club implementing these deadlines etc, feel free to meet me at a home game next year and I’ll show you the correspondence between Josh’s management and the club. I’ve been a member of this forum for over 10 years, I’m not one to make things up.

Ah yes good point. I have done that, asked people through messages for intel, but clear forgot about it.

To people who have info, please be wary if at all possible to not pass it onto troll journos. WT have enough trouble of our own.
