Aloiai officially released by WT. Weak by the club.

We weren't going to get anything by keeping him.

Regardless, happy we have Joe O on board. We’re a second rower away from a pretty good pack.

I am getting more confident about next year.

Me too. If we can get Roberts and Joe O back to their old form they’ll be fantastic signings.

We love to let players hit contract years lock them up before November. I don’t buy this story. If true make him stay and don’t release anyone until their contract ends.

Don’t understand why we’ve let everyone stay unsigned past November 1st. Just opens the door for other clubs to steal them away from us

We have been doing this forever. Players have to want to stay to sign before they are free agents. That’s been our problem for a very long time. They stay for an opportunity and once a good first grader they leave.

So frustrating. It’s a never ending cycle

I sense this is nonsense to be fair. Aloai has been given opportunity and looks like a happy camper. It makes zero sense we would not upgrade him. No other team can therefore he can’t earn as much leaving. It’s come out now that Fox has been taken off the table managers know Tigers have money to spare. I’d be shocked if we can’t retain players.

With all these young talented players that we’ve managed to obtain along with our own promising junior’s, surely Josh see’s the future is looking very promising for the WT.

And to add to that I’m sure that we will manage to jag a key signing or 2 over the next 12/18mths (as we will have the money to do so) and all of a sudden it’s a whole new ball game for the WT.

So why would anyone who has put in so much blood sweat and tears over the last couple of years want to leave just as the future is looking so bright for the WestsTigers?

Bright? What have we done that gives you that impression?

Anyone who thinks the WT are weak by letting go a disgruntled employee have obviously never been in that type of work environment where that employee can cause so much disharmony and distrust amongst a group of people. The guy said he would never put on the WestsTigers jersey again, so how the hell can you trust someone with that mentality to be around the playing group without causing issues?

He’s not the loss Matterson was. Not even close. Joe Offa is actually a significant upgrade. We got ourselves an Origin player. Giddy up.

No 'Weakness' shown by releasing JA. WE released him because it suited US to do so.

We recruited a subsidised player who plays in the same position (Some would say a better player who offers more versatility).

Therefore, no detriment to us in releasing him.

Club moves forward no worse off (Potentially better off) - yet people wanna bag the club.

Were the roosters weak when they let Latrell walk without any financial consideration?

It also says to the playing group

- we'll offer you a fair value contract
- we're not being held to 'Loyalty' ransom of the past
- if we can't agree to terms, we'll look to recruit elsewhere

That's how you build a hard edge as a club

“As part of the release, Wests Tigers have also agreed to an undisclosed commercial settlement with Josh’s new club.“

They got something from manly, no idea what.

I doubt if we will ever know.

I previously stated as part of a previous post,

"As some others have said, if we do get something of significant value from Manly and it is not put out in the public for all to see, then it is a pretty bad look for us and our tough talking leaders".

The only conclusion I can draw from the current situation is that the compensation that we received from Manly was of such an insignificant amount that Wests Tigers management are too embarrassed to let us know and will no doubt use our chairman's legal expertise to claim that it is "Commercial in Confidence" or some similar cop out.

Or the parties have agreed not to disclose the amount. While what has been done in terms of Aloiai is unprofessional, it doesn't mean our club has to act in the same way. Consider Aloiai now has do perform the walk of shame.

Maybe it was too much and Manly would be embarrassed by it? You are just making stuff up to be upset about.

Hold on, “commercial in confidence” is a real and legitimate clause in most contracts, no big deal, but hardly a cop out, it’s none of our business, they said they got something, then so be it.

So you're saying we capitulated because we haven't disclosed the sum paid...

Yet you wouldn't question our professionalism if we aired the compensation paid to us?

Some people need to understand, that even though we are fans and are fanatical, there is no reason what so ever for the club to share any of its financial dealings with us at all. It’s no ones business but the clubs and the individuals involved.

If you want input or information, become a member of the leagues club and run for a board seat. Or apply for the CEO job next time it comes up.

Yes. I think we will find some sort of excuse or reason that we cannot disclose the amount, which I believe makes as look weak and as if we have once again rolled over.

If it was a significant amount (which I some how doubt) and there was not some sort of legal impediment to us disclosing the terms of the compensation, I think it would be very professional of us to disclose it as a deterrent to other clubs trying to encourage players to skip out on their contracts.

What if it was Manly that didn't want it disclosed?
