They got something from manly, no idea what.
I doubt if we will ever know.
I previously stated as part of a previous post,
"As some others have said, if we do get something of significant value from Manly and it is not put out in the public for all to see, then it is a pretty bad look for us and our tough talking leaders".
The only conclusion I can draw from the current situation is that the compensation that we received from Manly was of such an insignificant amount that Wests Tigers management are too embarrassed to let us know and will no doubt use our chairman's legal expertise to claim that it is "Commercial in Confidence" or some similar cop out.
So you're saying we capitulated because we haven't disclosed the sum paid...
Yet you wouldn't question our professionalism if we aired the compensation paid to us?
Yes. I think we will find some sort of excuse or reason that we cannot disclose the amount, which I believe makes as look weak and as if we have once again rolled over.
If it was a significant amount (which I some how doubt) and there was not some sort of legal impediment to us disclosing the terms of the compensation, I think it would be very professional of us to disclose it as a deterrent to other clubs trying to encourage players to skip out on their contracts.

The MEDIA says we have to release Aloia so that’s what we’ll do.
We’ll probably send him over to Brookvale in a stretch limo and foot the bill, just to appease the pigs at News Corp.
I respect the Storm more for their hard edge demands for a quality replacement in the JAC negotiation. The very player they requested (and we protected) is now pee-ing us up against the walls of The Daily Telegraph building.
We are going to be compensated - have you forgotten that already. Just not with a player.

You’re not privy to that information, don’t assume.
Why not?
You are assuming we are not being compensated
And the difference is?

If you want input or information, become a member of the leagues club and run for a board seat. Or apply for the CEO job next time it comes up.

I agree, but when you have blokes like kempy who runs the locker room on Facebook (biggest rl page for content) making claims and saying stuff like “if you knew what actually went down and not what the higher ups want you to believe”. It paints the tigers in a very bad light because he has a huge following
Apparently he “knows” what actually happened and the tigers and manly offers were about the same, according to him (once again no idea how he knows)
I love the guys content but according to him the players can do no wrong, and he will defend them to day dot

Big fan on Kempy and “BLOKE IN A BAR”/Locker Room, however would love to know the details of his goss. Club always seems to be painted poorly and as you’ve said he is probably more inclined to take players sides.

Hold on, “commercial in confidence” is a real and legitimate clause in most contracts, no big deal, but hardly a cop out, it’s none of our business, they said they got something, then so be it.

We recruited a subsidised player who plays in the same position (Some would say a better player who offers more versatility).
Therefore, no detriment to us in releasing him.
Club moves forward no worse off (Potentially better off) - yet people wanna bag the club.
Were the roosters weak when they let Latrell walk without any financial consideration?

And further to that, were Rabbitohs weak when they let Suaalii go to chooks? The kid was on a $60k contract, Roosters generously offered $50k. Somehow it’s only the Tigers who wear the criticism regardless of the choices they make.
