Well considering that an armed civilian shot the attacker and then joined a second civilian in chasing the shooter while the police were still no where to be seen, Id say he has somewhat of a point. Lives were saved because that old timer had his own rifle and used it.
Im interested in your analysis of his flawed logic. It shouldnt be so hard seeing that you believe him to be "brain dead".

One of the problems the 'stop the guns' crowd has is statistics. Countries like Israel, Switzerland, Czech Republic, have similar policies on buying weapons (see e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_the_Czech_Republic)
However, number of homicides, and shooting incidents in the above countries, is below countries like Australia where we have stringent gun control.
While it is true that USA has one of the highest number of gun homicides, this is in 90%+ due to their biggest cities, where the Dems are in power and where they already have very stringent gun control.
Please explain?

Your argument collapses when the following information is added to the mix

Per head of population:

Switzerland has a 1/4 the amount of guns the US has

Czeh Republic has 1/8th the amount of guns the US has

Israel has 1/10th the amount of guns the US has.

Where did those figures come from MG?
From what i have read, as of last year, the Swiss are 3rd highest per capita worldwide with 45.7 guns per 100 people as opposed to Americas 88.8 guns per 100 people. Closer to a 1/2 than a 1/4 wouldnt you say?

What percentage of Munks 135 Posts have been in "politics" treads?

On footie discussions we know that players/managers and or clubs may read the forum and I think I can forecast a decision by the Club when a lot greater "campaign" appears on the forum and then sure enough the Club makes a blow.

Israel has been using such collective punishment measures for years and are not condemned by Oz or USA though they are against international human right laws. So are you against them in all situations?
