I was just thinking this morning of an interview I remember Alfie Langer doing on The Footy Show many years ago when he was still playing. I think it was during the week leading up to the beginning of the season and Fatty asked him what he thought of their chances for the year and Alfie talked about how they had a number of good young players coming through the club and singled out Lote Tuqiri as the best of them.
Later in the interview, Fatty asked him to rate some of the younger players on the squad, having seemingly forgotten that Alfie had already mentioned some of them earlier. Once again Alfie spoke glowingly of Lote and I think Fatty cut him off mid-sentence saying something like "Okay, Alfie we've established that this Tuqiri fellow is going to be a good player. Anyone else?"
Can't remember anything else from it but it's kind of amazing thinking back now all these years later and looking at how great a player Lote actually did become.
