Anasta signs with Wests Tigers for 2 years

Ink, I think alot of the hatred towards Braith started when Chris Anderson picked him for the Kangaroo Tour… I'm not 100% sure, but I think he came on as a reserve and played on the wing?!

Then he won 'most over-rated' player in the RLW Players Poll 2 years running?

Poor bloke. I reckon he is true fighter and is a very passionate player. I always love seeing the video replay when he told the ref "Your off your head..." a couple of years ago!

Anasta!!!!!! I'm slowly getting used to the idea, it is a hard pill to swallow coz he is such a toss. But if he is only ever in the 13 jumper I think I can handle it

Anasta is a good signing. His leadership and 1st grade experience will be a bonus

maybe after we are 1 and 4 ..we will be planning for next year..

**sorry balmain Sirro,, until we get some equality back into this joint venture I dont give a rats about this year or next..not unless Humphreys and Sheens leave..like my chances of winning $20mill on Sat.**

If you don't care, then why are you here?

What i see in Anasta is a senior player who will bring a fresh approach to the club .most of our players have only had one top grade coach and im certain his experience will rub off onto benji and robbie.
I wont be too disappointed if he gets the captaincy. One BIG thing about Anasta is he loves to win and he will always have a dig .Im pretty happy with this signing .

Wests Tigers Head Coach Tim Sheens says Braith Anasta will bring a strong set of skills and leadership when he arrives at Concord in 2013.

He has played a lot of positions and is very competitive and that’s what I like about him.

“Although Braith is in the twilight of his career, he hasn’t demanded a fortune and we are very happy with the deal. I believe he will bring more than value to this Club and to the team.

“I spoke to the senior players, in particular Robbie Farah and company, and they are very, very pleased to have him on board and they are ones who play against him.

“There are people in the public who say why do we go for a senior guy or why are we doing this. We have had good value out of some of the senior players we have bought in Scott Sattler and Mick Buettner.

“We are not talking about a player who is not currently producing. He is the first grade captain of the Roosters. I believe his competitiveness along with a change of environment, and with the strong group of players we have here, Braith will fit in really well.

“Braith will also bring a stabling influence in the side. All of these things will only add to make us a stronger team next year.”

all very good points - a stable influence next to Benji sounds quite good.

plus the kicking game will help a lot. Farah, Benji and Braith as the go-to kickers - thats not too bad (especially at field goal golden point time).

It may give us another attacking style. Controlled or Benji (i.e whatever he feels when he catches the ball).

It may work well.

Plus it doesn't sound like Braith was expensive.

Shrewd buy here lads.

Seems very professional. Does the article where Sheens wants Braith to join Benj and Robbie in the leadership group put to bed the story that Rob is going to Parra.

Anyone got any idea what sort of change he is on ?? You wouldn't think he was on anything less than 300 k in my opinion

I was thinking 300k, whether you like him or not he's led a team to a Grand Final, hes still an elite player.

hahahah Scott Sattler and Mick Beuttner! Obviously we haven't had any value out of senior players we've bought in the last 10 years!

Still think Anasta's a git but now he's our git I don;t mind this signing at all. Hopefully when Robbie and Benji look like they're planning on running it on the 1/2 way with 3 minutes to go while we're 2 points up in a major semi final he'll overule them and just kick the damn ball into touch in the corner.

Yes that is just about right Softlaw, I bet he would. Sigh.
