Just thought i would post this not just for the braith haters but to get everyones honest opinion is this first grade standard and is it good enough, well the tigers have won 5 from 7 but as we know you always have to field your best team, last few games are remarkable how many hit ups and metres gained by braith,i was a believer of having someone experienced inside brooks but what pressure really is he taking off him?

I would like to know if there is any number 6 or any player in first grade with worse stats?

Anastas stats that matter

Tigers 5 wins 2 losses

Brooks hasn't had a shocker

Anasta has done his job that he needs to do

The aint broke theory is outdated for me. We should always be looking for ways to improve the team, keep players hungry.

Its like Fitzhenry he played in some winning sides but was a total liability.

Braith is in the team as a 5/8\. He has set up 1 try. Austin would double our productivity in that position and make Brooks even better imo.

I find it laughable that people think Anasta is guiding and helping Brooks through games to be honest. Its like when Brooks has a blinder, lets give Braith a massive wrap for being out there on the field with him. Please!

Anasta was responsibly for such debacles as Akuola kicking on the last play yesterday and dropping the ball inside the 10, or kicking it dead, or grubbering on the 4th.

It aint real broke, it aint perfect but its OK

Bringing in Austin will see Brooks have to take on more responsibility.

His stats will go up.

Stats are pretty meaningless at times.

His stats for the Manly game look woeful but he was easily one of our best.

It isn't like forwards stats that tell a more complete story

Agree on stats to a degree. People will flip the stats to suit themselves.

All im saying is it would be nice for him to occasionally

* Not drop the ball in the opp 20 every game
* Maybe get us a repeat set or two
* maybe dont kick bombs that go 100 metre up and 5 metres forward
* Maybe run the ball more then zero or once
* Maybe occasionally set up a try
* maybe occasionally set up a line break

Like I said nothing to important just meaningless stats.

I think you don't change if you don't have superior options.

Surely BA has proven himself far superior.

Only saving grace is if Potts continues to use BA at hooker, though if Fults comes back he can interchange w Luani.

Anasta did score that 1 try against Warriors by himself, everything else in attack has been ordinary.

Defence good though, quite good.

I agree but Brooks is improving with Braith there and most importantly Farah trusts Braith and doesn't overplay his hand with Braith out there. It seemed Potter had to check him against the Cowboys because he overplayed his hand that first half.

I think the Origin period once we get all troops on board may see Austin make the step to pivot though

Disagree. Currently opposition defences have only one half they have to focus on - Brooks. Anasta offers nothing so there is no need to put any pressure on him.
Put an actual option at 6 and the defence will have to split its focus (across 6,7 and 9 when Robbie is back) and Brooks will have less defensive pressure on him and, as such, he will be more effective. Anasta at 6 is not unlike when we had Johnny Cronk at 7.

& as an on-field leader/ advisor Austin looked to provide more direction in 60 minutes at 9 than anasta has all year.

I've defended anasta's role for most of the start of the year but enough's enough. When Farah is back we would be a much better team with Austin in 6 and anasta in reggies.

Maybe. I saw Farah overplaying his hand with Braith there in Round 1.

I don't doubt Braiths influence on the training paddock and his leadership. I think in a way he are lucky to have a guy who has played 250 + games in the top grade with all our kids.

I just think he has to do better as a senior player. I dont like the wraps he gets for other young players playing well on the field. I want HIM to play well on the field.

We jagged that game yesterday and had we lost Braith would have had to take a lot of responsibility for his performance on the result.

I just don't see Potter rushing to change.

He would be wary with half the spine out already and Austin providing a valuable service off the bench

I thought a comment from Warren Ryan yesterday was quite funny during his call on ABC. It was along the lines of "if Braith actually ran the ball at the defence he'd score because the Parra players would all be too shocked to react".
However, I doubt Potter will even consider a change until Robbie is back. Then maybe we'll see his longer term plans unfold.

I dont see him rushing to change either

I just think Austin's "valuable service" is best for 80 minutes, not 35\. Things like tries and try assists I enjoy with half our spine out.

We wont get 2 intercept tries this week. Agree to disagree
