And ppl want Moses to start 5/8

Dont copy Benji and fire passes regardless of how the pay unfolds.

Worst half I've seen all year.

Might be different if we had some shred of defence, but I was never one calling for him to move up into the line

It's not just tonight he's passing behind the centre and winger. What really frustrates me is that there's nothing on and he's still firing out there way and missing.

A good learning expierance for the young guy tonight, unfortunately he is not big enough to defend at fullback he does not want to put the shoulder in …I have said before at least 2016 for a full season.

Hardly his fault, Lawrence can't catch or position himself.

Sorry, but this is wrong. If your centre is out of position, you don't throw him the ball. The guilt rests with the half.

And as for catching, yes Rowdy has had some shockers, but Moses served up some absolute garbage balls tonight. What, at least 2-3 over the sideline? And one pass so tragic, a sort of looping air ball that went behind the entire team, Rowdy fluffing it when trying to backpedal and take a catch.

Not that Moses won't learn, but he is a liability at the moment as often as he does anything good. And as ink said, totally ineffective in cover defence - not just unable to affect a strong tackle, but consistently beaten all ends-up when breaks are made; he misses some of these ones by a country mile, e.g. Taumaulolo last night and Chambers last week, didn't even lay a glove on them.

How old is he? 18? Prob 75 Kgs ringing wet

Don't expect this kid to be some miricle worker. There are 1000 more problems in the club then his game on Saturday Night.

Just saying that a bunch of people wanted Austin shifted after the Dogs game, but Moses has loads of work to do. No miracles, just recognition of how far he has to develop.

In fact Austin played fullback last 10 mins or so anyway.

he's only a boy. not ready for 1st grade. needs to build first. not strong enough to tackle these big boys. has talent no doubt. needs another year at least before ready for weekly contests.

He had a bad night, no doubt about that. But his touch, slight of hand and passing has been great so far.

I guess 2 or 3 games where he shows that touch of class were flukes and saturday night is the true indicator…..but i would be guessing wrong.

We were way too flat in attack all night

At one stage when there was a disputed possession call I thought the Cowboys had possession , we were that flat

We need to get deeper in attack and have different ball runners as options

We are very predictable without Brooks

I don't think he's in any way 1st grade capable yet. Not from what I've seen anyway. Some of you blokes live in this fantasy land.

The relentless defensive line speed (among other things) makes the transition from NYC to first grade tough.

If we were in with a real chance of being in top 8, I dare say Moses wouldn't be at 6…. The experience he will get from the last few weeks and the remaining rounds is one of the few positives we have. IMO Leave him there

let him play there for the rest of the season and get a feel for next year, as this year is done and dusted. He can only improve and the experience will help him no end.

In a perfect world we'd have Luke, Mitch & JT all playing in position for the next few weeks, starting to build the combinations that will I have no doubt win us a premiership.

Last two weeks, Mitch has Ben without either of them, playing with a halfback who is a utility or 5/8 playing 7 & a badly out of form second rower playing 6.

In he guilty of trying too hard in their absence? Particularly given we were playing catch up football on Saturday night from the 10th minute onwards. Maybe. But let's not lay the Benjis on an 18yo kid, who is learning the pace of first grade. If he's still making the same mistakes a decade down the road, then we knock him.

wow can't believe some 'supporters' being so critical of a 19 year old in his 5-6th first grade game.

Sorry guys but he isn't going to be a Brad Fittler in his 6th-7th-8th NRL game guys. Part of learning in life is making mistakes and that's just what he's doing. I think it was a great learning experience for him and will put him good stead for years to come.

I've seen him come through the lower grades playing great football and he is destined for big things. He is a very flashy player. He was man of the match 3 games ago and you make a thread dissing the kid?

Pretty disgraceful if you ask me.

You think that's disgraceful buckle up because the ride is going to get a lot worse if he keeps reading the newspapers.
His been treated no different to how any other young guy has been treated on here playing their 5th- 6th game when they have had a shocker.

Unfortunately that says a lot about this forum when it can't cut a little slack to young kids starting out in the game.

Last posters have missed the point of the thread.

I'm cool that Moses had a shocker, the whole team did. I hope he continues to get picked at the back, especially now the season is probably dusted, results won't matter.

But there were loud calls to shift Moses permanently to 5/8th and I think with Brooks just 20 games under his belt, that combination would be a big mistake right now. Moses would also cop a barrage in defence.

It's not about hammering him for an ordinary game, it's about being realistic that he is well behind the first 2-3 halves options we have (yes I include Anasta).
