National Black Cat Day, a day to inverse the sad saga of associated bad luck that sticks to the wonderful cat of this shiny colour. As they say, in the world of cats, black is always in style.

I believe in love at first bite.
Yesterday, I really wanted chocolate. Today, I am eating chocolate. Follow your dreams.
Life happens. Chocolate helps

Yeah I missed it but don’t worry it’s international chocolate day everyday around here.

Chocolate 🤷‍♂️ Bacon 🥓
It’s a tough choice.

Last nights dinner was bacon and eggs with home made chocolate cookies.

Canteen Australia National Bandana Day.

Every bandanna sold helps fund life-changing services like counselling, peer support, and programs that empower young people to face cancer with courage.

Wrapping a bandana around your head, making a statement of solidarity and support for those battling a tough fight.

World Teachers' Day celebrated in NSW today, Friday 31 October 2025.

The celebratory theme of “Hats Off To Teachers” in 2025 encourages everyone to show their appreciation for the work of educators by wearing a hat or sharing a picture of themselves with a hat on social media.

It's a way to honour their dedication and the positive impact they have on students.

“The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don’t tell you what to see.”

“A truly special teacher is very wise and sees tomorrow in every child’s eyes.”

Wassail all Teachers!!

Today is National Brush Day
Oral hygiene is where good health meets smiles that ooze confidence.
Proper brushing technique is key.
Dentists recommend the 3-3-3 brushing method ie brushing one's teeth 3 times per day, within 3 minutes after having a meal, for at least 3 minutes each time

Wake. Brush. Slay. Repeat.

I brush therefore I am.

No brush, no glory!

The Great Duck Race – 2 November

The Burleigh Rotary Heads Great Duck Race is back for another year!

Sunday, 2 November 2025
, 2:15pm-3pm, as hundreds of rubber ducks will race down the creek at the Currumbin RSL Reserve, all for fantastic community causes.

The Great Duck Race features two exciting races and a range of fun activities for the kids kicking off from noon.

(1) The Quack Back against DV Race: This is where the big ducks (and big hearts!) come into play! With all funds raised dedicated to supporting two domestic violence charities right here on the Gold Coast.

(2) The Community Race:
Local community groups and schools are selling ducks to their supporters, with proceeds directly benefiting theirs and Burleigh Rotary community initiatives. It's a fantastic way for you to support grass roots efforts.
