And today is .......

Mon Nov 17th, 2025

National Unfriend Day is a day for today, 17 November, in every sense of the word, where under the ever burgeoning weight of social media, occasionally parting ways with unfamiliar faces can be refreshingly liberating.

Ever scrolled through your media feed and realised you don’t recognise half the names popping up in your News Feed?

Friend list at 1000 people and counting? Is your wall cluttered with posts you don’t care about from people you don’t remember? Then National Unfriend Day is just what the doctor ordered.

A sort of de-cluttering of the soul (or at least your social network) that doesn’t cut it for you anymore.

Freedom comes in many forms – a time to streamline our internet experiences, allowing us to use our profiles to keep in touch with people we really care about, and preserving the true definition of ‘friend.’

Celebrate National Unfriend Day by taking advantage of this judgement-free opportunity to ditch the total strangers on our ‘friend’ lists!

On a slightly more serious note, National Unfriend Day can in fact be a good time to think about the amount of superficial relationships people engage in the era of social media, ‘likes’, ‘retweets’, etc. Are we possibly neglecting the people in our life who really love us and care about our well-being while we wither away sitting in front of our laptop for hours on end?

Habits are always evolving – as are our awareness of who really mean something to us – not the erratic, non-connections of moments long lost.

Just do it – “unfriend wisely” that is!

“Sometimes the bridges you burn light the right way.”

“Unfriend like you’re Blocker Roach – just block, block and block again!”

Married to a Scorpio Support Day

The brave choice to wed a sign symbolized by a deadly creature is celebrated each year on November 18 on the official National Married to a Scorpio Support Day.

Let’s just say this: Scorpios are wonderful, caring people, but there’s also a reason the adjective “intense” is frequently applied to them, and it’s probably the same reason that there’s a national day of support for the people who choose to marry them.

We celebrate Married to a Scorpio Support Day on November 18 every year. The day provides an opportunity to share stories, guidance, and support those with Scorpio spouses. Scorpio is the zodiac sign for people born between October 23 to November 22.

Scorpio, eh! Are you an astrology sceptic perhaps? Well, the simple truth is that astrology has played a crucial role in determining human behaviour, worldviews and established many rituals. Before the invention of science and technology, we humans had only the sky and our natural environment to seek answers about the world.

And then move forward to modern day and voila!

This special day has emerged as a light-hearted acknowledgment of the joys and challenges faced by those in relationships with Scorpios. Today serves as an opportunity for partners to come together in solidarity, appreciation, and understanding. Smoothing of troubled waters, so to speak.

Communication is the key - talk to your Scorpion spouse and appreciate all the positives of the union that binds.

Be conscious of the Scorpio mantra:

If you love me, say it.

If you trust me, do it.

If you want me, show it.

If you need me, prove it.

And blessings to all who are courageous in love, Scorpions today, but really everyone.
