Yeah. Johns, Daley, Ball, Matts are all different age levels. So you might play Johns then Matts then Daley then Ball. Although your better players will probably just play year young in Matts or Ball.

It’s good we have stepping stone reps available if required.
There have been blokes play NRL who barely made or even missed out on playing first 13 at school.

It’s extremely difficult to have too many players no matter how talented they are to be playing a year up and be successful playing Harold Matthews or SG Ball as the one year age gap which coincides with size, maturity, toughness etc is too big to overcome.
This is clearly evident with the current Magpies SG Ball team, many of them starred in the Harold Matts team that were undefeated until Grand Final day in the 2024 competition, but are struggling to make an impact with the step up in age and class.
I’m expecting some of the highly regarded boys in this category to be much more dominant over the last 4 or so rounds due to this.

Great 2nd half comeback by MWT in LDC this afternoon. They were very poor in 1st half but totally different in 2nd. A brilliant 50m solo try by bustling leftside backrower Teancam Epati sparked the team. Lachie’s bro Thomas came on in 2nd half as lock. Skinny stringbean but loves his hands on ball & brought plenty of energy and direction. Half Tyson Walker also impressive with his marshalling and kicking game while big boys Leviticus Tovia & Anapapa Faapoi brought impact. #14 Ryan Mackander & #15 Jake Jones also impacted comeback. Fullback Aaron Paea has x-factor.

Great wins by the young fellas finishing off another good round for our junior reps.

Boys are in the grand final today. Getting absolutely annihilated, as per the norm for our juniors.
Completing at by about 20%. The fullback and halfback have been especially atrocious today. Both extremely stupid players.
Very lucky to only be down 13-6 at halftime. Dragons have had 80% possession and 90% territory so far

27-16 Dragons. Got it back to 17-16 in 2nd half.
He’s upset since it looks like none of the men’s junior sides will play finals footy. Says we are last in recruitment for the juniors and poorly coached etc. But so far we actually aren’t last in any grade, didn’t mention our women’s side though maybe he doesn’t care for them which I’m not judging if that’s the case. Been venting for a few years now about our juniors, and unless they win every grade that probably won’t change from him.
