Andrew Voss Commented On The WT Playing Jersey During Commentary Today

I don't mind the jersey and actually bought it but don't like the whole outfit they wore today. Too much white. I also like Voss as a commentator and the shows he used to do. His humour works for me. He's not trying to be mates with everyone like Hadley and Warren. In saying that they all say annoying things at times.

Seriously how many threads do we need on this?

Though I like Vossy as a commentator, he is years behind on the whole Wests Tigers merger, we are no longer Western Suburbs or Balmain and are trying to create a single identity so the whole wear orange one week, black the next is redundant. If the club wants to try different things then let them.

And to say it again ('cause I am sure I have said it on here several times);

The Orange jersey from last year apparently didn't sell very well thus why it was dropped. The grey was something ISC wanted to try, and good on the club for taking a risk on a different design that meets the need for a clash design.

For me the grey jersey is perfectly fine, I was out there wearing it today and have no issue with the design or the use of what is a tertiary colour for us (as it is not the first time it has featured on one of our jerseys, it is just that it has never been used to this extent), but then again I would be fine if we ran out in fluro pink and green polka dots so long as it was still the Wests Tigers playing a brand of football I love to see and doing the club and its fans proud because that is what really matters, not what we wear.

Actually, slightly off topic but I am still surprised we don't have a sleeve sponsor. A team on the rise etc.

That would be Humphreys fault wouldn't it?

It's an absolute stinker of a jersey. I honestly can't believe the club moved away from the two strips we had last year. Same design - inverted colours. And having a predominantly orange jersey is always good for marketing - we're the only club with claims to that colour. You see a big Dragons crowd - a sea of red. Dogs - a sea of blue. Tigers - should be orange, but it's a mix of black and white like half the other clubs!

THIS!!! I want to look at the hill at Leichhardt, the eastern stand at Campbelltown and the corners at ANZ and see a wall of black, white and gold. The reality there is that the gold will stand out amongst all that, and we should embrace this fact as Wests Tigers, rather than trying to use it to push the divide between the original members of the joint venture.

I dont like this years white jersey.

A few years back was for.me one of the best ever. i will fig up a pic.

They could play in Flip's assless chaps for all I care , if we keep getting the two points who really cares what they wear

Too many fashion police in my opinion :brick:

I'll see if I can run up 17 more pairs before next week's match :sunglasses: Would you like them in black, orange, white or grey?

Personally I don't mind it.

In saying that though, I agree with [above] that orange is synonymous with wests tigers and it would be good to see it populate large portions of the crowd.

However…what Voss said about the grey being from neither Wests nor Balmain made me think "maybe that's the whole point?". I actually like the idea that it is not a derivative of the jerseys of TWO DEFUNCT TEAMS and is purely a Wests Tigers strip.

I applaud the club for not being progressive - but for finally getting with the times!

I suggest we do some sorr of survey on the issue of the jersey worn today.

From my observation, the white jersey is extremely appealing to younger generations (0-35 years old), whilst older generations dislike it.

I have no problem with it, in fact my mates who support other clubs have commented on how much they like it.

I like the white jersey and I question the motives of "some" of those that dont.I Can appreciate peoples hatred towards the grey but if there aim is to distance themselves from the old Balmain and Western Suburbs thing and market the jersey as the new club I understand their(WT)Point.I Think Id even rather pink ala the panthers than grey though.

I agree with Vossy. We have three colours - white, orange and black - **why do we have a jersey + socks which are grey?**

Because theyve run out of ideas for new merch with the traditional colors.

I like the design, but think if the grey was switched with black it would looks heap better

My 4 yr old Nephew said 'why are the Tigers in grey?". That about sums it up for me. The kids don't know who they are watching any more as our strip and colours change yearly. A reason why I haven't bought a new jersey in years as well.

Can anyone ever imagine a packed stadium in a sea of grey.

It would be one the most boring sights in rugby league.

People im talking to are questioning the motives of the people who are liking the grey. Goes both way innuendo.

I dont mind having a white jersey at all.

The one we had with the orange V was a belter,or a reverse to the black one with an orange and black v.

But Grey?

Its just wrong and it doesnt look like us…...its soooo nothing!
