Phil Rudd says it's up to Angus Young if he re-joins ACDC
Surprise plea … Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd pleaded guilty on charges of threatening
DISGRACED AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd revealed he hasn’t spoken to any of his former band mates in his first interview since pleading guilty to charges of threatening to kill and drug possession.
“You know who your friends are don’t you,” Rudd said in the one-on-one interview with A Current Affair.
The bad boy rocker who has fallen a long way from his high flying days as a successful drummer revealed he made a mistake and describes his actions as a “meltdown”.
“We all make mistakes. Yeah, it was a mistake,” Rudd said.
And regardless of his seemingly downward spiral Rudd has never doubted his talent.
Remorseful ... Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd admits his actions were a “mistake”.
I’m the best live rock drummer. That’s what I think of myself. That’s who I am. I can’t help it,” he said.
It was after Rudd’s solo album flopped that the rocker lost it and rang a friend, asking him to “take out” a former personal assistant who had worked on the album. The friend said Rudd offered him $200,000 and a motorbike plus one of his cars for the job which he believed was payment.
Rudd even rang the personnel assistant directly and threatened to kill him.
Rudd was also charged with drug possession after arresting officers found crystal meth and cannabis in his waterfront mansion.
And to top it all off he also breached his bail conditions by coming into contact with a prosecution witness. The encounter ended in a fight.

Rudd, who has now pleaded guilty and is facing jail time, is hoping for a discharge without conviction.
But there is another thing he really wants — to rejoin the band and go on tour.
“There’ll be another tour and another and I’ll be on it,” he said.
“It’ll go until we all die. We’ll probably all have to be dead before it stops”.
But 60-year-old Angus who now calls the shots has stopped him with Rudd revealing he has had no contact with the band.
“I tried to get in contact with Angus, with anybody, I wrote them a letter and I’ve had no contact at all,” he said.
“I’m very disappointed ... But you know, that’s life.”
The veteran rocker hopes to escape jail and move on with his life.
“I’ve seen the error of my ways and it’s onward and upward from here,” he said.
His fate should be known in late June.
