That’s Karen, Galvin’s mum, giving to the ref after the game last week. I could hear her screaming “I don’t care how shite he played, Gus said my boy was supposed to win this week”.

Fair Dinkum, you seen it live, that would’ve been a laugh. i grew up in a family of refs, and what Karen did to Hartley that day has always stuck in my mind. I had seen similar when Uncle BF was coming through the grades, but that was first grade and all the talk around the house. But what I have always wondered is did she jump the fence one hand on the fence, swinging both legs over style, like an Olympic steeplechaser, or did she clamour over it like some unco crazed Karen from The Druitt?
