Another Quick Forum Update

People don’t realise the costs involved in keeping a highly trafficked forum online **reliably**. With people discouraged from posting (heard yesterday from someone who was warned for “posting too much”) no wonder the site owner is losing money.

Time to move on else…move on.

I'm confused. Maybe I msunderstood.

I get your point that people should be encouraged to comment, (people shouldn't be discouraged from posting), but then you suggest that if people can't move on past (whatever this is), then they should move on away from the forum. Isn't that discouraging people from posting?

Rather than being confused it seems you are nit-picking and/or looking for an argument.

With no ill will, I have no energy for nor interest in that.

If people are unhappy with the site owner making changes the sensible choice is to take a break, even if only temporary.

Im not trying to argue with you mate, and I have no problem with mods being changed.

Im not sure the issues that were in the site are being fixed by changing the mods, is all.

It's 100% true.
I wouldn't have minded as much if it wasn't anonymous. It was vindictive in its length.
21 days was a conscious decision not automated.
The only two mods contributing that day in that thread was the two that were removed.

19th April 2019 I was allowed back on the forum.
24th April 2021 I'm previously banned member banned.
Ok.

You weren’t banned for that comment about Brooks though as you have claimed. Rather banned for re-appearing. You could have written anything. I knew there must have been more to it.

I’m skeptical. More than likely, someone took exception to that comment, which began a back and forth, which then led to a ban. While the claim that that comment got him banned might not be totally untrue, it’s probably embellished. Willow himself called Brooks an imp not so long ago, so I doubt he banned anyone over one stand alone innocuous comment.

Impossible. Live game threads have no time for back and forth arguing. The game moves on.
You can check the live game thread from the 24th April 2021 when Manly clackered us 44-24.

I challenge Kul to prove this false. He would have the details at his disposal. I haven't been banned since it's the last ban I received.

I’ve looked into it.. you where banned originally for wishing brain cancer on a player.. you then returned and was banned as a previously banned member not because of anything in particular was posted..

Those bans have now been lifted.. welcome back

Why am I getting banned in 2021as a previously banned member.

A change in forum software around then lifted all bans from 2019 … you where then re-banned when that was discovered..

I'm sorry if it came across as nitpicking, I genuinely wasn't trying to start an argument. I really am confused as to why people think moving on some mods will fix all the issues in the forum? I think it has definitely been a positive thing, and a lot of people have posted their thoughts which has let me see the positive affect it has had.

For me, it's all about using respect in posts, which some have seen but others still seem to be missing.

I do apologise that my post must have come across as argumentative, it wasn't my intention. I started reading this thread a few days after it all went down, so maybe I'm behind the times and my mood/state of mind will take a few days to catch up. Maybe it just takes me longer to move on from things.

The forums alarm bells went off alerting the mods I've re-appeared after 2 years back on the forum? Why not catch me 3, 6 months or even a year.
This makes no sense.
Someone went looking for an excuse and used that.
That's fine it's done. I finally have an explanation to why.

This is what I think is wrong. A ban for 18 months is over the top and then he gets banned as a previously banned member for doing nothing.

Assuming he isn't some bot posting Viagra pills or something surely there is a way to do this with a much lighter touch.

I don't know for a fact that this is what happened but I wouldn't be surprised. The point being they were looking to ban you and found a rule to ban you with.

That to me is atrocious behavior. @Kul acted way too slowly on this but I expect it was a long time coming.

Correct. If you don't rejoin under a new name, it isnt worth it imo

See absolutely nothing wrong with bans due to not staying within forum guidelines or behaviour which incites conflict.
Possibly a constant reviewal of banned members and whether the reporting feature is being abused are two areas which need to be looked at more closely.
Otherwise I agree most rules are being appropriately administered to ensure the place is more family friendly and things like personal attacks are somewhat limited.
