Another Quick Forum Update

I'm still trying to figure out who argues with mods and why they would do this. I've been here 17 years, never banned, never had a fight with a mod. I'm not clear why it's hard for some folks; you don't have to do much to stay in the good books and still offer your opinion.

And now there's this fairly pathetic chest beating going on in this thread, about topics I really don't understand, but it's ugly.

Man a few people going a bit over board here. Let’s hope it’s just the news being broken this morning that has taken everyone by surprise.

When I did some work with behaviour kids we had a thing like what Kul said earlier “let it all out” but you only had 1 day to say what you needed then it was done. If you wanted to continue do it in your own time. I think that would be fair to say here also.

For the forum members saying they are leaving @cochise @avocadoontoast @Tiger5150 and a couple of others I say stick around. This place needs diverse posters to share ideas. Sure take some time out but let’s come back together and talk footy come round 1 v the Storm (we all know we’re going to need as much help as we can get).

Jesus, I hate to say it but a lot of you blokes take these forum politics way too seriously.

Is it that complex a thought that people could just come on here and have spirited conversations about all things Tigers?

Also I hate to break some of your bubbles, but 90% of posters barely recognise your username, so your forum ego is kind of pointless.

It may seem to beg to differ , but I personally don’t care . I just straight up feel bad for willow and Cochise and think it was a bad way for them to find out . It’s not about politics but rather they put a lot of effort into this forum . And surely they deserve a bit better go .

My god, they haven’t died…Quit the melodrama, it’s sickening.
Destructive influences have been removed. The forum will thrive now.

It’s kind of hilarious to me . Guys got banned , and now they went on a rampage . Others eg. Myself got banned , and laughed it off , because we knew we were breaking the rules when we did it .

I didn’t break any rules.
I had a crack at two protected species on here the other night, beat them soundly, then got banned…presumably for embarrassing them?
I can’t find out now because the heroes who banned me have sooked off and ran for the hills.
I must admit it is funny to see the perpetrators of power hungry bullying get their comeuppance and their supporters sulking all day long is the cherry on top.
My popcorn container has got a real workout today ?????????

From what I'm observing, after another disappointing season the forum is mirroring the club.....end of season review conducted by Kul resulting in the sudden and unexpected removal of the leadership team, new players and old faces return, shock resignations, other users offered to other forums but no takers.......just need a new logo which is no doubt on its way

Isn't this part of the problem that we should have to stay in "good books"? Moderation is not about playing favorites and bringing personal views into it. Moderation should be an impartial role with very little interference, which it has not.

This is getting ridiculous.

When it all boils down, change is afoot. Im not a fan of it and I think Willow and Cochise were treated shabbily.

This place for me was a forum I've always enjoyed for the discussion of the Tigers and other topics and genuine interesting friendship on the forum. Its changed and is changing further. By the attacks and doxxing etc, its also clear that this place is no longer a place where Im welcome. No doubt Im responsible for a percentage of that, and there is stuff Im not responsible for. The break up is irrelevant, it doesnt matter, this place is what it now is and Im not a part of it.

Ill do you guys a solid and depart a few hours early. Lots of cool people here and I genuinely hope it all turns out good for the forum.

Your contribution is always welcome by most people on here imo.I know it is very difficult to do but just ignore the agitators

I think Willow and Cochise were the fall guys for those who can not own their part in causing and contributing to the drama. I don't keep tabs on those who re -enter the forum under different names but it seems that this is a problem for some and immediately encourages dissent when it is not warranted.

Happy with this decision. A refresh in mods was definitely needed.

I had left the forum and wasn't planning on returning, mostly due to the over-moderating that was happening at times. It became unenjoyable being here. But with this decision I'll definitely continue to contribute to, and read the forums.

And, if I could have downvoted this comment, I would have.

Your "unenjoyable" may well be others' definition of "necessary". Now that you're emboldened to contribute more @Sabre, I look forward to reading and responding to your posts.

And I look forward to hearing your responses. That's the way a forum should work. All views are accepted.

What’s ironic is that the last few days before this thread was created, there was a lot of positivity on here due to the Papali’i signing. That sort of thing puts everyone in a good mood. Before that though, we had very little to get excited about. Most of the time we’re forced to manufacture it, by putting faith in unproven kids or signing players 3 to 4 years past their used by date. And not everyone can fool themselves into getting sucked into false hope like that. But then the club pulls something off that 99% of the forum would agree was the best move the club has made in at least 5 years. The mood immediately lifted. When nothing good is happening, when we’re not winning, people have blow ups over certain players, or signing the wrong players. That’s when people get agitated. I know some have put it down to Covid. And while I think that plays a part, ultimately, the mood reflects how well the club is going. The positivity after the Papali’i signing is proof of that imo.

One thing I would suggest is having the forum set to private, not a huge deal but might help get a few new members in and only formers can see the content keeping it in house. Thoughts?
