I found this on an article somewhere. JT sees what we all see. Hopefully this is the issue and it won't be anymore. We don't have the depth of other clubs, especially in a couple of positions.

Let's just hope he changes all our fortunes from professionalism , to having pride in the Jersey and playing for 80 minutes .

Theres a lot more to it all than just bad luck

You are right …I have always believed a negative attitude also has its bearing with injuries that professional sports people get . There seems to be a totally different philosophy with the new coaching structure,I like the dietry issues that have been applied also the new weight regime that the players would not be used to .
The word Proffessional seems to have entered Concord this certainly can not be a bad thing .

Hope the new S&C group have learnt how to strap knees and ankles properly as this is an important part of supporting those areas….

You will be surprised how much strapping helps...even years ago when I played, you weren't allowed to play unless you strapped your ankles...very few injuries occurred in this area ...

Im no expert, but this is just my opinion of what could help our players...hips,neck,pecs etc need extra strengthening and this year could prove how good our new S&C are...

I'd hope a professional NRL team, even one with as many injuries as we have, would be beyond needing help with simply things like strapping a knee or ankle.

I find this odd on 2 counts.

Firstly, I would imagine the physical requirements for Rugby League require training with equipment can be moved in ways that mimic league combat. Free weights are a must for this.

And the second thing I find odd is the footage of the boys training clearly shows them using free weights. Also, we have an article where Tedesco is quoted on his deadlifts. Deadlifts is free weights training.

So I think it's safe to say the boys are doing there fair share of free weights, so i don't get how Taylor has thrown it all out.

The article is from the dept Phil Rothfield runs.

Agree with both points made Sirro. Plus lifting free weights supports development of core stability compared to using machines. Using a smith machine has resulted in me having two arthroscopes on my left knee. Never again.

Willow, are you referring to the Nautilus machine where you move around the machine and do neck, leg arms and shoulders weights..

I found it was a pain in the in the butt…would rather do individual bench presses,Dumbbells etc at my own pace, rather than hurry around a set machine.

Pain in the butt? Sounds like you're not using the machine properly…

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised if they changed training strategies, but I would be totally surprised if they turfed out the free weights. Machines just don't have the versatility of free weights and are no less dangerous to use.
