Api transition to DaSilva

Fanatics, rugby?
No mirrors in your world mate.
Bit of a fanatical rant.
Api's copped a spray from his fans for last night's performance. However, many might be prepared to cut him some slack as he's built up a but of credit.
Absolutely need to start managing Da Silva into the team. Should've been happening awhile ago, but we have far greater issues than Api imo.

Someone on the forum said it wouldn’t be long before people started to turn on Api… sad to see it’s come to fruition.
He has been under the lens all year. Sycophants tend to ignore reality.
He hasn’t had a good year and has captained us to back to back spoons.
TDS is ready to go and has completed a proper apprenticeship, unlike the 5/8 who seems to be able to do whatever he likes.
2025 is the year we must begin to manage Api out and Tallyn in.

Sounds like that someone knew what form Api is in. He captained back to back spoons, 2023 is a long way from his 2024 form. Go back through the game threads and youll see 25% of them are complaining about Api being 'off tonight'. The guy definitely had a hand in our few wins, definitely had a hand in many more loses. Api was clearly carrying an injury and or fatigued for many games this year. He isnt an 80 minute player. Benji had a million things to concentrate on this year, blooding TDS is just another failure from the wonder coach. TDS should have been in 20 games this year. A year late now on further development rolled into next year.

Agree on some of this. Api not a great captain & looks obvious that he struggles with it. Would be a great support for Luai(C) I reckon. He's had too much on his plate & the burden of trying to lift our mob is showing. I'm not convinced Da Silva is completely ready for 1sts, but only one way to find out. Managing both Api & TDS's minutes in 2025, and getting it right, will be a key to success from 26 on.
I'm a Galvin fan & love his competitive nature. I think he's done more good than bad but hope he can see a future at 13 as I believe Latu could be special at 6.

Api shouldn’t be playing 80 he’s all heart and tries to hard at time which ends up in tackles like they did yesterday. I’d like to see TDS on the bench so we can see more quality mins from Api instead of busting his arse for 80
I would even start with TDS and bring on API the final 15-20 of each half where he would be most dangerous

I find it puzzling that people are wary of elevating TDS who has progressed through the pathways the correct way, yet had no problem with the keys to the team being thrown to a completely unproven 18 year old at the start of the year.

Fair point, mate.

Api has had a very poor season. 2023 he was our best player by a mile. It's just calling it for what it is. It doesn't mean we hate him, it's so that we can get him playing at his best so the team can play at it's best

I'm not sure about his voice and leadership as a captain as well, especially training. on the field he tries very hard but I wonder how the boys are at training. yes you need good chemistry and a happy squad, but you also need professionalism and 'respect' for everyone in the team. Which comes down to how the coach combines different players and injects them in at the right time

You're 100% right about Api but I'm not sure TDS is the answer. I hope I'm wrong but I'm not sold on him.

A large part of management is getting the best out of your resources, including Human Resources. Is API’s best use playing 70 minutes per game in 2025? I think the evidence is pretty clear that it is not. Therefore our management need to come up with strategies to get the best out of him.
The faux outrage of a few on here and social media should be ignored when making such a decision.

You’re not getting my point. TDS is probably good enough to give Api a spell. In a good side.

Do you want to give Api a spell when it likely means your last shot at an unlikely win is gone. That’s the match situation in front of Benji most weeks.

Benji has talked about wanting to rest Api in a lot of his pressers and also Api not wanting to come off.

Desperate times, desperate measures and all that.
Agree
We need the coaching staff to be thinking putting TDS on is a positive move,
Not putting him on to give API a rest.
If Luai leads the team next year that should make the transition easier for playing 2 hookers.

Which IMO will benefit API and the whole team.

Hahaha
Hey Tuck
I think we have got your thoughts on Galvin.
