Also respect to Api, he could have held out for the new franchises or poked around for deals at clubs who need a hooker, but he has decided to essentially retire as a Tigers player, which is not something you can commonly say about rep-level players.
Api is one of the few rep-level in-demand players to actively choose Tigers in the middle of our slump and accept the workload and stress that entails. This is his second extension, i.e. he's had the ability to move on twice now and chose instead to commit. His presence in the team is a magnet for other recruitment.
Tigers will be his longest-associated club at the end of this contract (6 years total, 4 years each at Manly and Penrith).
