Appi's Sin Bin

Just watched Annerslys explanation and support of Appis sin binning, what a joke, and the media in attendance have no idea didn't question anything. Oh he made sure to open the session by explaining how important it was to support the referees.

He showed 3 camera angles (not one from inline with the incident, apparently we don't have cameras at the ends of the field) the one that was supposed to be from behind was at an angle that made apps look like he was a metre to the side, and annersley makes comment that you can't argue that angle. one explanation about apps right foot almost inline with the player playing the balls right foot so clearly the left has to be further across, even though it shows its almost behind his right and as the video goes on his right foot goes further across infant of the play the ball.

then he stated that if that wasn't enough in the laws it says a marker can't jump around and interfere with the dummy half by slapping at the ball / arm (im paraphrasing), so sin bin any way.

no talk or questions of the sharks player stepping to the left off the mark (I find this as one of the biggest blights on the game) and no talk or questioning about the fact that the dummy half runs from dummy half thus making him self available to be tackled and appi's arms wrap after the initial contact making a tackle attempt.

I would love to sit in on ask some of these experts some questions one day just to se how they could diplomatically answer them.

Sorry but that pxxxxxx me off ….. ahhh I mean, upsets me greatly, Vent Over

It was a tight enough call to avoid a sin bin at least. I could have dealt with a penalty, but given how close it was, a sin bin was pretty harsh.

Yeah it was a dud call… again …

I hate the excuses though given the points given up with a full team … made little difference to the result of the game

It didn’t but it’s a pattern against our club and Anusley doesn’t have the ticker to address that fact. Weak gutted dog.

meh … the worst call they got all season was against Parra at the death when Gutho missed the penalty kick …
Nothing comes close to that …

People were crying recently over a sin bin when they were already down 26-0

We had a chance to go up by 12 v Penrith when we had a support player taken out. No sin bin.

Klem got 10 for saying that’s not a shoulder charge with another game in the balance. Our opponents never question the ref?

The issue is not just our sin bins but the ones that don’t happen against us.

My pet hate is teams lying on us repeatedly and being offside when we are in the red zone. That’s what Benji should be harping on about.

At game speed my first thought was Api had not gotten square, had interfered with the play the ball…definite penalty, maybe bin for professional foul.
On replay and zoomed in, there was nothing wrong with what he did. Why couldn’t the bunker tell the ref to look at it again?
This is why I hate it. Toothless.

Bunker is rubbish
we have the technology to stop forward passes when they happen
we have the technology to allow the bunker to look at things like Appi issue sin bin and rule on it , NRL don’t want to slow the game down with stop checks , it’s wrong as people gamble on the games so it should be law that all precautions are taken in the result , yes it would take a bit of time but it would work , we have forward passes probably in every second set of six tackles , the coaches are telling players to test the ref , not all coaches just the smart ones like bellemmy , he will use every way possible to win you can see it when he is in the box going nuts , spitting , he only knows win at all costs , Melbourne wrestling , I say no More

Look at the bright side ....we only lost that sin bin spell 6 nil ....we are starting to defend better with 12 players
And then we had four sets of six on the attack prior to Sezer’s intercept.

The Sharks were giving away six agains and penalties on purpose. Api questions the ref just before the interception.

The logical question is, why so trigger happy to bin us but they get lots of chances?

Lucky Annusley found a dodgy camera angle otherwise he would had to reinterpret the rules again or even pull out his infamous short whistle

Maybe I'm suspicious, but ever since the Bulldogs game earlier in the year, when many captain's challenges happened, and the ref was yelled at, many friends of mine who supports other teams can clearly see the officials blatant bias against wests tigers.

Yeah just read his 'excuse' on NRL. Com... Weak as pee

Like you tuck I initially thought it was binnable but on closer inspection - - - which is what the bloody bunker should be doing - - - you see he was square

I also see they've changed the rules yet again... Markers used to be able to play at the arm of the dummy half... Apparently no more.

""markers are not allowed to slap down at a dummy half's arms or the ball itself." "

Does that mean that if a dummy half runs and makes a break and the markers chase and slap at the ball or arm to stop them scoring then it is a penalty or is this new rule only within X metres/seconds from the play the ball?

The marker has never been able to reach around into the ruck area and play at the acting half (even if the ruck used to be between the first marker and the guy playing the ball)

However when the acting half moves and leaves the ruck this law is null and void and he can be tackled

in-fact I have heard commentary teams commending players that have saved try’s on their own line for being smart and playing the arm (no penalty) as the acting half had taken off
