Arana Taumata to debut

Arana, in my eyes, doesn't deserve a start this week against the Panthers…...he must stay with BRET, put in , and show the club , that he really has changed his ways.

Whats he done thats undeserving of him gettin a start, all Ive seen you mention is him eating a pie.

Big whoop.

i have mixed feelings he could be brilliant or it could be a disaster, hes like benji but no where near as good. and i dont know if hes the answer as a halfback

i think if Sheens makes a deicision he needs to either put on there for the game.. not half a game and then bring the other on..

Number 7 is a full game player.. not a half or 2/3rds player

dead right t rexx ,most important position in the team..,

I have nothing for or against Taumata yet but Lazarus's first game was no worse and no better than Lui's first game in first grade.

it was worse, i don't remember all of Lui's kicks being bad and him dropping the ball a couple of times

also Lui had a try assist

thats because lui didnt take a kick

Dont see a need for a Utility this week against the Panthers. If we dont go into this match with 2 props and 2 backrowers on the bench, we will struggle. Penrith will keep coming all night and judging by the way they touched up the Warriors big pack, we will need plenty of workers out there on Saturday night.

Fulton and Flanagan are all suitable options to fit into a backline to cover injury. This game is all about the forwards. No go forward, No chance!!!

(PS: No halfback would of done much out there last Friday playing behind a beatn pack stuck within our own 30 all night) :deadhorse:

There you go again Ink , the ultimate Editor …

Anyway, it's not about the pie he ate , or partying with his Ex Storm mates , the night before The Balmain vs Norths game , it's about the Pie he still hasn't eaten yet ...the Humble Pie.

Look I'm all in favour in giving a young bloke another chance in life, and Arana is lucky he has been given his 4th chance wirh the Wests Tigers, but i just reckon
there are good hard working local juniors who must think what they have to do to get a fair go

Arana hadn't played any footy for weeks , and I 100% agree with Tiger Watto ,in that we don't need a Danilla or Arana on the bench this week against Panthers, size , size & more grunt

Ultimate editor?

Youre the one saying he needs to prove he's changed his ways, all you mention is him eating a freeking pie when questioned on this
I'd say he's shown so far he's changed his ways.
Lazzo had next to no footy either….yet you werent against him getting a shot.
In fact youve been pushin his barrow for years...you seem to be very biased in this area.
maybe there are local juniors are working hard, Is Taumata not working hard, if not even harder to overcome personal deficiencies/behaviours as well as injury?
You want the locals to get a fair go...yet you wont give AJ a fair go
Very biased.

well his try assist was off a grubber kick, but I guess that doesn't count as a kick

Yes Ink I have been a fan for years of Blake's game , and yes I also said after watching his last State Cup game against Melbourne before his first grade debut that I believed the he was still way underdone , but I would rather he at 7 than Sheens make shift solutions .
I have watched Arana with keen interest and yes as Robbie has stated his runs are "scary" , but he also needs more match time in reserve grade , and Ink , he has had an ankle injury for the last 3 weeks, and now that Sheens has used the Lazarus's card last Friday ,it's not fair to dump him after the way that game panned out in the first half.
The only change I would make for this Saturday's game would but Gallaway & Payten in for Danilla & Fitzy.

Not that Blake did anything wrong, would give the same opportunity to Arana. Lets see how he goes. We can then compare the 2 and can honestly make a decision moving forward until the return of of Lui or continue if combination going good.

What kind of pie?

A Janson’s Pie from the Lidcombe Oval kiosk pie warmer of course

there is still a janson's pie shop on canterbury road at belmore, just near kingsgrove road. not sure if it is still owned by the family. seem to recall old mr janson passing away a few years back - went to school with the Janson's - a good magpie family.

if fit, i think they may put arana on the bench. sheens seemed to indicate after last weeks game that he'd give lazo another go.

Lui had a wonderful debut. But in fairness it was against the Sharks when we belted them. It is why I am keen to see what Lazarus has to offer after a proper period of training in the position and hopefully in a side going forward and working with space.

Tuesday will tell the tale though

If he doesn't pass we don't need him - needs quick passing game, and a level of understanding with Marshall and Farah in attack.

Yep that was where they made them, in Belmore. We used to go there on night work and get dozens of them.
