Arana taumata

Sounds positive.

Now if Taumata plays half, and Moltzen is pushed to fullback, what happens if we sign Tuqiri? IMO Tuqiri must play full-back, and Moltzen must be in the side somewhere (not on the bench). I guess that leaves Moltzen at center or wing - but gee what a talent to have sitting out there! Has the pace though.

It has been a long time since we have had such selection head-aches. Good to have.

Lote can go jump as far as I am concerned,he has carried this circus on too long, forget Lote sign Lima and Cayless, and I have a real good feeling about Arana,he has talent to burn.
A Benji and Taumata half combo would be up with the best in the NRL,I can't wait.

I hope Taumata lives up to some of these expectations….

He has talent.....but I have to ask has he actually done anything???

I agree Lote can go and take a flying jump…Tigers...offer him a take it or leave it $100k...then tell the fans your position on this so the Lote talk can go away.!

If the WT sign , Cayless, Lima and Lote…..there is competition eevrywhere for positions in the top 17, with everyone else already coming on board.......hopefully the Tigers will pay $4.50 to make the 8 again like this year....IMO, it will be easy money

Have to agree with that. Expectations are pretty high for what he's done. Probably a result of our failure the last few years, we're reaching out in hope for anything that might turn us around.

I spoke to AJ last night, and you guys have basically signed Jeff Lima except their holding on with the announcement until after the grand final in order to unsettle the Storm boys and keep the focus on the team as a whole.

AJ also spoke about the differences between the intensity of Storm training to that of Tigers. He said Tigers is less disciplined and there is a fair amount of laughter and joking that happens during sessions which Sheens doesn't clamp down on where as at the Storm, Bellamy would haul the team over the coals if that happened.

Might explain why Storm is backing up for their 4th consecutive GF :stuck_out_tongue:

Lima - I am starting to get excited. No more will we be regarded as a "smallish" pack!

Re the intensity at training, I would suggest that the fact that AJ is joining in after our season is over might be a bit different to a pre-season at the Melbourne Storm. Things might even up between the 2 clubs once the new season is closer. There may be an element of truth in it in an "all things being equal" comparison though. Different coaches have different styles too.

one of my mates is involved with the dogs. the club believed he was the most talented half they had had since terry lamb. 'aj' and braith anasta both came to the club at the same age. they said it isnt even a competition who had more talent at the same age. taumata hands down.

Yeah that is true. I'll ask him when full pre season comes around and see if he still holds the same opinion.

He did say however he sat down with Benji, Ellis, Farah and Galloway to talk about what they expected from him and where they want to go as a team and more importantly a club, and they expressed how their defence is a worry for them, something that is a key emphasise to work on heading into next year.

Isnt it great having H0ust around, like little inside stories!

We'll if the tigers have a more relaxed training approach, could this not benefit arana as its probably not as stressful etc?

haha thanks, nah yeah AJ is loving here. His other option was to sit out the year at Storm and not get paid then come back and have a crack. Him and Benji can be a lethal combination.

I think he is unproven but I distinctly remember watching him play for the dogs a couple of years ago and he tore a side to bits, it was Benjiesque.

Yep im also hearing some strong rumblings about Lima having basically signed with the Tigers.

On Taumata i dont see him as good a player as alot of people on the forum but i know the Tigers do have big wraps on him so look at him being in the seventeen at the start of next year if he trains strongly.

Agree regarding the training. The Tigers did the same thing last year after their season ended and it was all just treated as a bit of fun and keeping fit up until Grand Final day. A few of the Tigers players reckoned last pre-season was the toughest they ever had. I think it showed on the field with the consistent performances the team put in and I think having Folkes on board will step it up a bit further, he's also a bloke who doesn't muck around.

Taumata will certainly have some competition during the off-season for a starting position with the likes of Moltzen, Lui and Lazarus all able to play half.

haha I'll keep u all updated with any info that I find out. I talk to AJ once a week so I guess that means more stories and what not, however some stuff I'm not allowed to say in regards to his previous record at other clubs and what not, so I'd appreciate if you guys dont ask me questions about that stuff. cheers.
