Seems like the warriors have taken over the roosters as the games biggest rooters of the salray cap. they seem to be able to sign players at will and still keep there best junior talent. we really need to get a accountant like some of these other clubs.

Don't forget that the Kiwi dollar is worth less !!!

You have got to love creative accounting!! Given they have 1 NRL team in NZ I assume even though rugby is there number 1 game that 3rd party sponsorships would be significant!

The 200 million pound transfer they got for Tomkins has been put to good use…

I think part of it could be that NZ players are often keen to stay in NZ. Means they don't always have today big bucks to fend off competition

To be fair I think they have developed a lot of players only to be lost to Australian and UK teams.

Off subject slightly but involves the Warriors v sharks.

The match winning try of Johnson did he not receive the ball on the right side of mannering then run back around behind him impeding/obstructing/shepherding the defence from tackling him?

Based on the no try for us v raiders is it any wonder fans are confused as to the rules of the game when they seem to change with every match.

I hate this rule with a passion. There is zero consistency with it. It was never a problem under the old rules of the game (which weren't broken and didn't need fixing by the way) - a shepherd was a shepherd and it was obvious, unlike today.

They've also come out and said after signing Luke "we still have space under the cap and may have room for another 'star'"

How is this? when we're over here struggling to fit under with what we've got.

Because our cap is horribly managed. Its not that hard to work out.

They are spending a suspicious amount of money at the moment!

Hoffman, Luke, RTS all signed on reputed big money (which I suspect is true given how in demand they would all be)

I cant imagine Johnson, Mannering, Matulino and Vatuvai not being on at least good money.

IMO they have miss managed their junior talent and have under performed.

As has been mentioned above, they have good leverage with the 'stay and live in NZ' aspect. And like Brisbane, a one-team town so more scope for TPAs. Plenty of wealth in Auckland…

Not sure about this season, but before that the Warriors never used the full salary cap. They've always had money to spend, just hard for them to get a superstar to come across the ditch.

As mentioned above, they don't have to overpay to keep players where they want to live and they rarely get players keen to come over here. So good for them.
