Are we actually capable of contending in 2016?

We need to fix our outside backs. I haven't seen Chee Kam but I'm hopeful he can slot into Simona's centre spot and we can put Simona onto Richards wing.

I think we need another forward with some impact off the bench but we really need Moses and Brooks to kick on. I think they have been good but a couple too many poor plays in them still.

KG has been good. We are a weaker side without him.
Having said that, 80% of our team will be improved players with another year under their belt. Not many teams can claim that. Melbourne in particular.

No to the heading ..obviously many do not watch much footy ? This team is way way off from contending next season .Any of the top 4 teams would of beaten the Tigers by 30 last night ! Last night alone if the Raiders held the ball more on the attacking line they would of won by heaps,it is great that a few wins are coming and the boys are getting some reward for there effort but one has to be realistic the spine is healthy at the moment and some of the forwards are running into some form get a couple of injuries and the team is back at the bottom of the table.
At least 5 NRL quality players have to be added to the roster to start competing week to week ,the team is still a way of yet but there certainly is a nucleus for a very good footy team.

Maybe, if lovett gets the flick for good, siro fires up to his potential and we can sign another player like Gareth we'd be looking pretty good

If Lawrence goes next year then surely that will free up some cap space. Unless they will try and front load some players contracts in 2016 so that we have a real chance of signing quality for 2017.

I would go with a team looking like:

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofo
3\. Chee Kam
4\. Simona
5\. Niquama
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Tupau
11\. Lawrence (or Sironen if Lawrence leaves)
12\. Halutua
13\. Sue

14\. Ava
15\. Lodge
16\. Sironen (or Lovett)
17\. Buchanen/Graham

With the new interchange rules Farah has to go back to playing 80 minutes.

3\. Milone

he's in the top 25 this year why would that change? He's part of the new boys club.

1\. James Tedesco
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Kevin Naiqama
4\. Marion Seve
5\. Tim Simona

6\. Mitchell Moses
7\. Luke Brooks

8\. Martin Taupau
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Aaron Woods
11\. Dene Halatau
12\. Curtis Sironen
13\. Jesse Sue

14\. Michael Chee kam
15\. Matt Lodge
16\. Ava Seamunafangi
17\. Whoever earns it.

Michael Chee Kam is a must in the backrow with the reduced interchange, can play long minutes, see how he goes. Lawrence seems to be moved on but time will tell.

Agree in part…
Che-Kam defo from the bench not a starting centre.
Can cover the backs if needed due to injury or whatever.

Also think Taupau is a lock or second rower so I'd have him at 13 with Sue on the bench and maybe Ava to start, not sure yet.

I can't understand why the club's best centre, Simona is constantly being touted as a winger. We don't have many options in the centre department and our best option is being moved to the wing, doesn't make sense unless the Tigers sign 2 quality centres in the off season warranting Simona's move to the wing (and we all know that won't happen). But until we have better NRL standard centres than Simona then he belongs in the centres!!

Also we are not capable of contending in 2016 with our current squad but like over the last few weeks can cause more fancied teams plenty of headaches during the 2016 season.

i'll just start at the first position i look at.
prop
woods,has ava signed on yet?
no galloway, lodge, who knows how many games he is actually available for selection.

i prefer sue backrow instead of prop.same for tapau.

unless we have signed quality props that i am unaware of,there is no way i can seriously call our squad a contender.
and then there are the rest of the position holes

Despite the last couple of weeks, I think we're a long way off.

Need another quality prop with Keith gone, still would like a good centre and another quality second rower couldn't hurt either.

How is asking a question the same as making a statement? Do you guys even speak English?

It's a worthy question to ask.

Also when I say contend I mean contend not win.

You answered your question with a statement:

I feel the last month or so we have seen that we might actually have found a balance to really contend next year. Moses has started to come on, Tedesco outrageous…

I feel like we actually may just have a side that can truly contend. Check it...

Lovett does a job and is needed.

Lovett is needed like a drill to the head.

 he really is terrible isn't he. Way too much arm grabbing.

I actually think we are capable of contending next year, every team is. Sure we won't be expected to do all that great, but everyone starts the year as contenders.
We'll shock a few, upset some and do better than what most think imo.

With a couple of good buys and this team keeps improving the way they have in the last couple of games, not only will they make the eight, they will push for a top four finish in 2016 and that in itself should prove how well this club and team are heading in the right direction…..they need a really good offseason to accomplish what I have said....
It is very much achievable....

Gee we are building nicely heading into the upcoming off season and 2016\. If we can replicate the previous 2 performances over the last month, then it shows that we can provide those types of performances consistently week-to-week.

Lets not forget that we have shown these type of performances earlier in the year (Dragons, Rabbitohs, Bulldogs) but have struggled to back it up week-to-week and even half-to-half in other games (bulldogs, rabbitohs, broncos, roosters, manly, titans, canberra).

If we can maintain this impressive level for the remainder of the season, I am confident that these young superstars have matured enough to perform week-to-week, even earlier then I expected.

With that comes the expectation of a top 8 finish next season. From there anything can happen, but we'd have to remember that at least 90% of the squad would be in their first finals campaign, so a grand-final IMO is way out of reach next season.

I'd be estatic with a finals berth, let alone one finals win in 2016.

Feels good to be a Tiger right now, however with our club that could change very very soon !

My only problem is that just as we start to build momentum, that we hit round 26, have 6 months off, then have to rebuild again next season. Teams like Roosters, Storm, etc. have that playing group sorted out; am just hoping that it isn't a new slate and that we can continue the form of the good games (don't want to include the win over Canberra as a benchmark to live by).

He walked past me yesterday with his missus. He isnt overally big or tall.

But what was striking was how young he looks. He's still just a baby…
