Are we pushing the panic button ??

I have read and replied to many threads re: cap situation, the management and coaching staff..

Are we jumping the gun by letting all this hearsay get to us without solid foundation to some of the claims, such as players wanting to leave,no money to buy quality players and the board is as bad as the last lot ….
It may be that Marina Go and company may have the situation nearly under control, the statement that was given to us by her about the cap may just be to try and ease the pain we are feeling,I certainly hope she doesnt think we are just stupid members and will cop anything to help her plight...

the old saying HONESTY is the best policy....it works for some...not for others...

we could all be making a mountain out of a molehill ..who knows..it doesnt help when 2 bob journos publish crap just to get a story......

Truth is we cant compete with the clubs that TPA their way to premierships. But I follow the Wests Tigers because we develop our players and that is the way I want it to stay. If a player wants to leave so be it, there will always be another to take their place. Our issue has been poor financial control, instability and egos. We need to reign these in and move forward. Truthfully I don't care who plays for us or who coaches us just want a stable club that is not in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. If Go, Moss and Taylor can deliver that so be it. I just want to support the Wests Tigers in a positive manner.

This forum has been screaming for the board to tell us what the situation really is. Now we shoot the messenger. Just stunning!

I was also under the impression that we should have transparency with the financials of the club, but was rightfully put in my place when reminded I nor any other member was a stake holder in the club. If this was to change I believe you have substance in your statement.

In this situation we are in where there has been some apparent financial mismanagement of the cap , we have to take some small steps on the road to recovery, Ms Go did not say that we cant buy anyone before 2018, she said that it would take that long to get the cap in order from a responsible point of view.
There may be some signings in the meantime to fill a couple of holes in the roster, but they would be fringe players, Tapau was a fringe player, look at him go, the worst thing that we could do is buy a centre like Idris or a winger like Tupou, theres too much risk there .I'm confident that Moss and Taylor will buy the right players when the opportunity arises and not get pressured into paying "overs".
I hate my team losing all the time also, but they are my team and I will stick by them no matter what!

Yes its over the top at the moment. I honestly feel that if we get the following improvements:-

1\. Some smart signings in the outside backs or some juniors really kick on
2\. Our halves progress
3\. Our coach improves his game plans significantly

then we will improve a lot.

I don't believe those components are too hard to achieve.

1\. Why do we assume that just because we don't like a story in the news, it is crap ?
If the same people wrote a piece that was complimentary to the club. We'd be all over it like a fat kid on a cake
2.as Marina said in her statement earlier in the week that new things are constantly coming up , that amaze them.
Doesn't sound like they have everything under control to me.
Although I would hope that they do

No ones shooting the messenger, it's just that what she said is vague
Did she tell us where the club is headed. ???
That might've satisfied the majority of supporters,
I think we're fed up with spin

She never mentioned fringe players.
I think you are reading a lot into it
She never mentioned any thing happening before 2018

Not saying you're wrong TT, but there's so many stories going around at the moment , I guess it'll be awhile before we know which are right or not

GCT I finished talking about, but not quoting, Ms Go at the end of my first paragraph, from there on my post is about my thoughts

Sorry
Misunderstood the post.
But I still think that you're reading a lot into it
The problem with her statement is that it really never said much at all that had any substance
She mentions dates but the rest is just Waffle. Every has a different idea of what means,
Eg: can we buy players at allbefore2018or 2019?
What happens at the end of 2017 when we have hardly any players on the books.
It's gonna be an interesting 3-4 years

Without a sugar daddy/mummy or Hollywood Super star to bail us out the club has to do it the hard way.
