Are you prepared to admit this JV is a failure?

Well, you certainly can't call it a success, but it can't be called a failure either, until it stops functioning altogether, which may not be a bad idea given the present circumstances.

The next coach, trainers and CEO appointed will be a crucial call, because we need a new everything to get us going forward,a wrong call could send us out or interstate.
We have the players coming through to make us successful, but they need a couple of decent signings and a coach and CEO who are working together and know what they are doing and we will be talking finals not failure..

We have been a club since 2000, thats 15 seasons. 15 seasons and only 3 finals appearances, the worst finals record in that time in the competition. The fans hate each other, the boards hate each other, we have no money, one half of the JV is on its death bed financially. We play at 3 home grounds, playing 8 games a yr at the traditional grounds as a token gesture. Besides our junior growth areas, that other sides in the past have tried to hijack, there isn't one thing any other side in the competition would envy about us.

So be honest with yourselves, no sugarcoating, and no being bias, we haven't been a success. Yeah, we won a comp, but i think all the negatives outweigh that positive. If you don't think we're a failure, i'm curious to know the reasons why.

Thoughts?

You asked for honesty - so I ask the same of you? Have you ever really supported the JV and/or are you hoping for one side to take over from the other? Or are you at the stage where you would be happy to see the whole thing fold? The way you can so easily dismiss the winning of a competition baffles me. I bet the Titans, Cowboys, Warriors and Cronulla would love a competition winning side in their trophy cabinet - the majority don't remember or care who made. the semis its about who got the prize. Yes things need a shake up in the boardroom, But when you say the fans hate each other perhaps that is trom your perspective only - cause it certainly isn't mine, my families, or the friends that we go to the games with who represent both sides of the JV, but support the Wests Tigers. You brought it up - just interested…

No one is forced to support this club. There are plenty of other options.

So we can't have a voice to vent our displeasure ??

As well as a fan many of us are customers , as members and buyers of merchandise

And if you are unhappy with the product you can complain

Probably many WT's members feel they deserve a refund at times

Admitting failure goes way beyond complaining. If your at that stage making a complaint is futile.

The JV is by no means currently a failure but the current first grade is a failure. However, if the current coach together with the Board is not replaced within the next couple of weeks the only realistic view is that the club will be on the precipice of total failure. The NRL do not accept long term ineptness.

Well seeing as the NRL has had to take control of the board, its hard to argue otherwise.

not really…. we could have kept it in house but Balmain couldnt bare to lose a seat to Wests. Funnily though the little hail mary dash to the NRL backfired with harsher stipulations than the Wests money had.

…and there is the divisive comment he was waiting for.

I was looking for a divisive comment was I? Whatever, maybe you could bury your head a little deeper into the sand.

And continually accepting substandard garbage is OK

So what is your argument , the JV is an utter success and we should leave it the way it is

You must be new to these parts, cos if you don't classify the amount of Wests v Balmain crap that goes on everyday throughout social media as mutual dislike, well you must be blind

When you put it like that, yes we suck.

Where did I say that? Some years have been successful, this year hasn't. I don't like it either. Address the issues sure but when you admit to failure then you might as well raise the white flag. That is my argument.

Im not new to anything - just voicing my opinion like you. And where do you stand in the crap that goes on - for it /against it - because the way I see it most of it comes from a vocal minority. Thoughts?

You wonder how Manly with the awful home ground, massive infighting, lack of finances, player squabbles, and shoddy bubblers seem to do so well year in year out…

If you look at membership numbers it would appear many are raising the white flag

And if we don't see many improvements with the new board the memberships will plummet again

Tell me , how many businesses would accept 20% success rate ??

What issues can you seriously see the WT's fixing by Round 1 2015 ??

Both wests and balmain failed for years , why is anyone surprised when the ship has a giant leak in it .rugby league us a tough sport go follow at the best of times .but when our team surrenders like they do you'd have to say we are bordering on failure.if potter keeps his job the leak will get bigger .

How do you measure success?

By lining up and dropping your pants I guess

It was a serious question happy…the OP wants people to admit the JV is a failure most seem to agree...Is a success finals appearances or Premierships...

I see Teams like the Sharks. Cowboys, Warriors and Titans who have never won a Comp...Souths haven't won one in 40 years Parra since the 80's ...Are these teams failures?

Seriously though Geo

Success can be measured in many different ways

What did we learn from 2013 to 2014 and what did we improve on ??

Crowds

Memberships

Profits

Recruitment

On field results

Off field results

Injury rates

Retention

Sponsorships and sponsorship $'s

Well being of playing and coaching squad

In my opinion if we haven't improved by at least 10% in a particular area , it is a failure Pure and Simple

We are currently 4/16

That says plenty

If we were an EPL side we would be probably be getting relegated again

People need to stop dancing around issues

Support the team by all means every week , don't support the club

The club hasn't earned our support and isn't even close to doing so
