Are you prepared to admit this JV is a failure?

Azsportza…. if they both folded, you dont have a team to follow, complete and utter truth. You live in fantasy, but the reality is that WT exist on the funds of those you wished didnt exist. Money has to come from somewhere yet name me a WT benefactor that isnt factionally involved? There is a historical debt to be payed no matter if you are, a blow in or not, from whatever faction, there is a debt owed.

I hope neither faction is lost, though in a way agree, a propietary ownership has never been established, a fault in the constitution highlighted by current dilemas.

I am all for WT, doubt me at your peril, though the club needs consistency rather than flip flop direction. Factions will only vai for control, it is the essence of business itself, the ability to control ones investment. Do not be fooled into the thought path that a bilateral consensus has been agreed upon, nor ever will, there is a reason business only sells 49% publicly.

We have been a club since 2000, thats 15 seasons. 15 seasons and only 3 finals appearances, the worst finals record in that time in the competition. The fans hate each other, the boards hate each other, we have no money, one half of the JV is on its death bed financially. We play at 3 home grounds, playing 8 games a yr at the traditional grounds as a token gesture. Besides our junior growth areas, that other sides in the past have tried to hijack, there isn't one thing any other side in the competition would envy about us.

So be honest with yourselves, no sugarcoating, and no being bias, we haven't been a success. Yeah, we won a comp, but i think all the negatives outweigh that positive. If you don't think we're a failure, i'm curious to know the reasons why.

Thoughts?

You asked for honesty - so I ask the same of you? Have you ever really supported the JV and/or are you hoping for one side to take over from the other? Or are you at the stage where you would be happy to see the whole thing fold? The way you can so easily dismiss the winning of a competition baffles me. I bet the Titans, Cowboys, Warriors and Cronulla would love a competition winning side in their trophy cabinet - the majority don't remember or care who made. the semis its about who got the prize. Yes things need a shake up in the boardroom, But when you say the fans hate each other perhaps that is trom your perspective only - cause it certainly isn't mine, my families, or the friends that we go to the games with who represent both sides of the JV, but support the Wests Tigers. You brought it up - just interested…

You must be new to these parts, cos if you don't classify the amount of Wests v Balmain crap that goes on everyday throughout social media as mutual dislike, well you must be blind

You've still never answered his questions. Obviously a politician at heart.

If the dinosaurs would just look forward to the green pick in front of them instead of constantly turning around to inspect their own precious little pile of excrement, we might just move ahead.
Look up coprolite. It seems to motivate many in this club.
The JV is a resounding success.
With all the sh!t-fighting, Wests vs Balmain, we still manage to get a team on the field. Let's try to keep it that way.

You've still never answered his questions. Obviously a politician at heart.

What questions? You agree with him do you, that there isn't any disharmony among the supporter base? get real.

i also think we aren't a failure as a JV but the underlying issues that has plagued us from the outset is holding on to our past too much and never being flush with cash.

have a look in the past 15yrs of nrl premiers and grand finalists and its the same bunch of teams, no surprise they are all cash rich (were at the time) or privately owned. there is the sprinkling of battler teams that have done ok over the years, us included in 2005 but by and large can't move away from the fact that the clubs with money and better facilites stand out.

we were built as a JV from two battler clubs and continue to be one battler club, until we break from this mold if we ever do we will never be a lofty success that other clubs are. i really do hope we get bought out but don't think it will happen anytime soon.

No, i've never supported this team. I only come to this forum out of habit, and only have gone to games and payed money for the last 15 yrs out of boredom. What do you think? seems like a pretty dumb question. I have a question of my own, and that's how is stating facts, liable to being asked whether you're actually a supporter or not, what does that have to do with anything. If you are a supporter, does it mean you're suppose to ignore those facts?

Now why don't you turn your attention to him for not answering my question about wondering if he thinks the supporter base is harmonious.

GNR4LIFE I don't understand why you are always so negative. You are passionate and I get that, we all are and that is why we jump on social media to discuss our passions. But to criticise a team of kids that are way out of their depth in a first grade NRL side is an over reaction in my view.

I listened to the radio yesterday when they said we have 12-15 players unavailable due to injury or retirement. So why would we pack our bags and hang the closed sign in the window just because we have had a month and a half of losses? Our juniors are great kids, but they are not ready.

I still remember the day I first saw a Balmain flag and fell in love with rugby league. I was like a pebble being dropped in a creek - I was in deep and absolutely love it, and I have no doubt that you do too. You don't give your kids up if they let you down, you work through it.

Times are tough no doubt, and delays in installing a board and having no coach or new signings doesn't help. Be disappointed, but don't hang 110 years of history and passion out to dry.

I'm not criticizing the kids, i'm talking about the club as a whole, in particular the board and all the issues we have etc. Are you saying they don't justify criticism? I hold very little at the players feet this yr, they've had their legs cut from under them by the idiots that run the club. I personally don't blame them for not having a go for the last 4 or 5 weeks.

Well at this point I would like to own up to causing all this mess.

Back on grand final night in 2005 I wanted to win so much that I prayed to God. That's right, I got down on my knees and prayed to the Almighty that if the Tigers won that game then I wouldn't care if we didn't win ever again. Just please give me one Wests Tigers premiership.

There, so now you know. It's all my fault. Don't go blaming each other. I am so sorry for my weakness.

Hahaha I'm afraid to say that you weren't the only one as I am guilty as well. Though 2010 was absolutely heartbreaking as I really thought we had it that year.

I always say that if the Tigers don't win the premiership I don't want us in the GF. Most supporters only ever remember who wins, who loses GF and who gets the spoon. I still remember the 89 GF and the agony that caused.

Though it would be nice if we at least win the premiership once every 10 years. Time to start planning for trying to win it in 2017 as I really think we need a 75% turnover of our roster before we can challenge consistently like Manly, Roosters etc

Just a few years ago we were the premiership favourites, media darlings, everyones second favourite team, had one of the most marketable jerseys and were averaging 15k crowds. Whilst our finals strike rate refletcs poorly on us as a team i don't think it necessairly means we are a faliure as a club, just yet anyway. Whilst were at a low in most of those areas these days, i can see the light at the end of the tunnel once the new board is in place and our young team begins to live up to the hype (if ever).

I dont remember most of the issues you mentioned ever being a major concern in 2010-11 GNR. Now that we're losing everyone looks for someone or something to point the figure at. Once we start winning again these issues will disappear and people will forget they even existed, most of then at least…

I think a faliure of a club over that time period is the sharks. They're a club who is struggling season to season in all aspects.

We were winning this yr, and were a realistic shot at the 8 after we beat the Dogs, then parasites within the club sabotaged our entire season by calling a board meeting 3 hours after our most important game of the yr where we would have been in the 8 had we won. How many other clubs would ever do that? How many clubs would allow someone on their coaching staff to publicly berate the clubs captain without any consequences. I can understand if people don't want to call us failures, i don't know how people can't admit that we are a joke of a club, run by amateurs.

I repeat ( don't know what happened to my last post) I believe the disharmony does not lie with Wests Tigers fans but with those masquerade as fans but still support teams from a bygone era.ie Balmain and or Wests. What better time to have a crack at shaking things up when the team/club has had a very bad year. A few people passing round the matches at the moment but denying having anything to do with lighting the bonfires. Agree?
