First picks went so well ...

Ended up with a few lowly picks in positions that everyone had raided early.

Always the way mate, very strong team on paper though!!

No one picked up Michael de Vere

I left him out as I didn’t want a FB on the bench ...

That's good ..I always thought of De Vere as a centre..who like staples..

Dame just thought about Scott hill as I am mowing the lawns. Glen Mo##ison is another

There's more...just depends if you were happy with your original selection in the position...Craig Polla-Mounter Mick Neil in the halves Luke Priddis at hooker I'm surprised did'nt get a run..

Quite a lot of Props to that were very good players but tradesmen like

A lot 2 flopped in either end of the decade...for the most part think everyone did a great job...

There is also 1 name I'll throw out that played 2 games for the Gold Coast in 1991..

See if anyone can guess..

Priddis did get picked. I tried after my Wally Lewis pick to get guys who played more than 2 years but then I started seeing people playing 10 games and it went out the window with my final picks.

It’s a little bit ho-hum but I’ve understood Geo’s rules now in that he merely wants players judged on their absolute peak (on field best form) for ONE specific position (yet you can still select utilities, as a coach would too) and to really disregard the amount of time played within the era... I.e Jharal did pretty well for me

Wally’s fine as, IMO, he was leading going into the 90’s and whilst not quite at peak powers he was still an established and very well respected hard nut... problem is, lot of 5/8’s in this comp look pretty bloody tough as well. My popcorn’s out.

No that is not true..contribution to the era is what my intention is..but people are entitled to vote however they want..

Exactly as I suspected, hard to gauge an overall’s players contribution to one single era when it’s about the sole comparison to his peers ... but to each his own I guess. All I can tell you is the metrics worked out very well here as voting should be much tighter even amongst some of the less effective picks for that “era”... as in they may have had exceptional utility value, brutal defence (a la Matai) or inspired fearless leaders... that’s what I think of Cammy lol... a good captain but that’s about it. Sadly 90% of QLD disagrees

Isn’t that Happy and his 45 cousins?

lol yeah..

VOTING REMINDER..

Once the selection process is complete …that is everyone has picked 17 players you will then name your team 1-17…

From that point I will compile the fullbacks together…

We each the vote or rank the fullbacks …as there are 14 Coaches and you can’t vote for your own player obviously you will vote 13 down to 1…13 being the fullback you deem the best of the era 1 umm the not so best…

Once everyone has completed voting /ranking …I will accumulate or count the votes to determine the final order for fullbacks…the accumulated votes the get credited to that Coach…in the end the Coach with the most accumulated points wins…

We then move onto wingers centres etc etc through to Props…calculating each time…When it is time to vote/rank the bench each Coach will vote 13-1 on the bench as a whole…

It may sound complicated but it’s not really and just like picking your team once the voting gets into full swing you will pick it up quickly…

The good thing about the voting stage is you don’t wait your turn …you vote once the players are listed and it moves a bit faster but all players must get there votes in before we move onto the next position…

**During the voting stage I would just Ask that you vote and leave commenting until the end ..It takes me about 30mins to compile the votes.... longer if I have to scroll through comments to do so ..there is time at the end of each voting stage to make comments if you wish and would encourage it as it is also part of the fun...during just means we have to take longer to move onto the next position...thanks**

Anyway if you want me to clarify anything just ask
