If he’s not cheating than he is possibly the worst referee to ever blow on a whistle.

I forgot about the Richow one. That wasn’t even a penalty let alone an interpretation that went against the spirit of the game.
And the cowboys …. It’s as clear as day 365 days a year till the end of time , feldt initiates the contact .
Both games we were severe underdogs paying 5 dollars plus for the win . ….. but yea he’s not suss .

Damage is done , he is an ex gambling addict , and now may not be doing anything wrong but the fact he was a ref and had a $ 400 k problem again $ 400 k problem means to me he would have done what ever to get out of the shat , they all do , PVL needs to make a big call and remove this guy as no game now he refs will be treated the same , any close outcome , any close call , no try , multiple six again will all be classed as cheating by the fans , or most of them , allowing him to ref any games is border line corruption when there is money involved which is every nrl game , SOO , etc , I still can’t believe he has the SOO , nrl is corrupted by gambling revenue ,

Yeah me too but the nightmare came flooding back pretty quickly. He is a gambling addict cheat and needs to be removed asap for the future credibility of the game. No game Klown refs can be considered safe from suspicion.
I hope whoever goes to the game has banners of Klown is a cheat!
Klown has turned the NRL into a circus.

The integrity of the game is eroded by having Klein continue to referee.I think I read that he didn’t close his betting accounts until 2023.

The NRL need to stand him down (with pay) to thoroughly investigate any potential betting links and previous accounts.

They also need an independent auditor or reviewer to investigate the NRLs response and handling of the matter including looking at any gaps in policy when it comes to referee gambling and consider adopting similar policies from the AFL.

In the interests of transparency, the findings should be published.

Klein had a terrible reputation prior to these revelations. From here on in, every single 50/50 decision, bad call, six again, will have fans questioning whether it was made honestly, impartially or whether he’s doing it for nefarious reasons.

The way the game has entwined itself with sports betting and gambling, it is on a collision course with a major gambling or match fixing scandal. Bigger than the Tandy incident.

I’m not saying Klein is involved in match fixing or anything corrupt in nature. But the vagueness of the NRL response and the way they’ve tried to sweep this under the rug, makes me think not enough is being done to prevent future betting scandals from occurring.

To think we have a proven problem gambler adjudicating in the bunker today on our game is deplorable.This man may be honest but there are far too many potential factors to suggest he may not be.
I am sure the referee will not overule any of Klein's decisions from the bunker today but surely at the back of their minds they would have doubts especially if they believe that they are correct with what they saw.

If the NRL thinks we believe that all games, the rules are applied fairly and evenly to both teams, regardless of their position on ladder and the teams profiles.

I dont know the answer to that. It was sent to me about a week ago. Ive found it; Change.org, Title: Ashley Klein must be dumped as Origin II referee.
Ive just googled it and the petition popped up.

The fact that Titans were allowed to maintain two unsuccessful challenges typifies exactly why Klein shouldn’t be allowed to be an official in any game. Disgraceful.

He should be dropped after that regardless but being able to ref our biggest stage is a farce.

SOO next game will be watched by everyone wanting this game to go lop sided , then the claws will come out ,,penalty count ,6 again , sin bin , send off all gonna be heavily watched , Queensland win nrl are rigged , nsw win Klein a crook that type thing ,,gee it’s gonna spoil this next game , nrl need to replace him now so it is not run by an ex heavy gambler . $ 400 k is big coin to be loosing on dogs and horses and other things
