Most of these blokes have been playing Rugbeh League since they were 6 y.o.

They should have the fundamentals by now..

It's mental with this mob..maybe a shrink or a footy whisperer would be a better investment..

Or a Coaches Coach or sumfin..

Let’s give up on learning cause they’ve been playing so long. I’m sure they’d have no need to get some private coaching off a world class halfback, they did play so well this year after all!

Have you actually listened to Brooks being interviewed ?
He might have been good at colouring in as a kid but that’s about it ...
Halves coach ?

***Dragons’ premiership-winner returns to Red V in coaching role***

DARCIE MCDONALD

**Dragons’ premiership hero Jamie Soward will return to the Red V next season as part of Anthony Griffin’s coaching staff as a halves and kicking coach.**

**Soward, who played 140 NRL games for the Dragons between 2007 and 2013, is still the club’s leading pointscorer.**

**“I’m extremely excited to return to the Dragons after a number of years away from the club,” Soward said in a statement released by the club on Thursday.**

**“It’s a proud moment and great opportunity for me to be able to work alongside such a high quality squad.**

**“The Dragons have always held a special part in my heart and I’m looking forward to making more memories in my new role at the Red V.”**

**Not only will he coach goalkicker Zac Lomax, but Soward will also work closely with struggling halves Ben Hunt and Corey Norman as well as 25-year-old Adam Clune who is still in the early stages of his career.**

RIP 2021 Dragoons hahahahha

I suggested some years back he receive help with public speaking. Not to have a go at him, but to actually help the guy. Of course, there were the inevitable cries of being too hard on him. Well I reckon he still hates the camera and mic. He certainly doesn't look comfortable in that space.

Former Canterbury interim coach Steve Georgallis has found a new home at the Cowboys.

Georgallis, who did a good job in difficult circumstances when Dean Pay parted ways with the Bulldogs midway through this season, beat a host of candidates for the position as Todd Payten's assistant for 2021.

One of the most experienced assistant coaches on the market, Georgallis was on the Wests Tigers' coaching staff alongside Payten for several seasons.

Madge is not much of a tactician...in fact, he is very poor at in game adjustments and tactics for different sides. Bennet also is not much of a tactician, but he balances it with Jason D, who is excellent.

We needed that balance IMO. An assistant who was able to 'balance' Madge's in your face / motivational stuff.

Collins is decent, but def not a tactician.

That Souths premiership winning coaching line is getting a bit overused IMO...it was a unique team in that the owner recruited all of the big names. Burgess...Inglis...

Most coaches would have won that year with the roster.

I would have liked someone more modern than Collins, rather than just "well, he was an assistant at souths when they won".

You make so many unfounded assumptions or unprovable assertions.

Bennett is not much of a tactician hey? Tell me was Andrew D his assistant coach in 92-93? How about 1997-2000? Or did he have some other whiz-bang tactician to cover his inadequacies back then.

Any coach would have won with the Souths 2014 roster hey? It's interesting that you single out Burgess and Inglis, because they joined Souths in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Madge started in 2012. So if the roster was so crash hot inevitable, with signings by Rusty Crowe, how come when Johnny Lang was the coach in 2011, when both Inglis and Burgess were present, they came 10th? How come Souths made the finals once in 20 seasons prior to Madge, then made the finals 4 consecutive years including the premiership?

And you know Wayne Collins personally, worked with him or know people who have?

Such unfounded absolute comments and I don't believe you have any direct experience inside any of the NRL teams, you are just a punter like the rest of us.

James Tamou.

Why are you harping on about big-name recruits as the measure of a coach? Ivan Cleary signed several high profile names for Tigers and it turned out horribly. He's signed hardly any profile players to Penrith (Koroisau and Tetevano the standouts) and they are minor premiers.

Apparently Madge snubbed Flanagan, probably scared he would take his job.

Or the fact he is a multiple occasion cheat. Best decision Madge has made in a long time.

This. Any club that takes him on should have a long hard look at themselves and the type of culture they want to promote. Flanagan is a win at all costs type of person which is one of the reasons he cheated on such a scale.

Off to England, but should be marked never to return here.

All for redemption an all that but what he did was a massive breach of trust with his players and a massive no no for a leader. No real surprises given the broader issues at the Sharks when he was there. Not all tarred by the brush but enough.

Oh the old "it's not the coach it's the roster" argument. EH was using that against Madge for 2014.

You really don’t give Madge enough credit for winning a premiership. He helped build and shape that roster, as we’ve seen with quite a few teams the last season being good on paper doesn’t equal results if you can’t coach.

I really wouldn’t have cared if we got Flanagan as an assistant but can understand not getting him. Collins is a good coach and I hope he, Madge and Millard can help get us going a bit next season.

He deserves credit, as do all coaches who win a comp. I don't think he really shaped the team much though. The halves were in place and the big gun recruitment was all owner driven. It was very unique.

I am a Madge fan, as you likely know by now, but you tell me any high profile recruits he has landed?

Burgess and Inglis went purely because of Crowe.

I just would have liked someone who balanced Madge a bit...a tactician who could maybe bring some fresh ideas. Collins is not that guy.

I expect Millard is the tactician considering he’s our attack coach as far as I know

Nothing personal on Millard ..but in his NRL career how many tries , try assists , line breaks , line break assists did he provide

He’s our attack coach and it was vastly improved. Defence on the other hand not so much.

But we had to take huge risks on many occasions to score those points or to get into field position to score those points

When it doesn't come off it puts huge pressure on your defence

There is no defence with us. Some teams struggle with both aspects of the game. Comes down to a lack of talent. Too many one dimensional players.
