Apparently he was ripping it up in training, out performing the other backs so got his chance. I'd be amazed if he's not there next week

If we had CT out there tonight the Novacastrians probs would have reached 50

This kid is no where near Thompson ....if we are releasing CT we need to be upgrading no equals or in my opinion worse

I think it’s a bit harsh to judge him based on a few errors tonight. He’s copping the Reece treatment which I thought was also harsh.

They simply need time and regular games to develop. But patience is in short supply atm which is understandable.

I’d be giving him a run at centre tbh. That looks to be his preferred position & TT has been solid on the wing for us so far

His nickname will be Hanoi ...he will get bombed every night after that performance

You practice ......You put bombs up for yourself and take them over and over again

You get a wooded area and put bombs into the trees so you get used to taking bombs in traffic

Its how I practised under high balls ...I'd put a bomb up into all the trees in the backyard (we had close to 2 acres ) and I had to catch it no matter what ...helps you get used to dealing with balls in traffic

Remember this was the 80's .....fullbacks weren't protected species like they are now

poor kid had a bit of a mare with his hands but im hardly going to throw him under the bus on debut with seasoned veterans around him that looked even worse.

I didn’t see anything he couldn’t fix with experience and practice.

Physically strong and made plenty of metres, good work ethic, decent leap as well.

Season is gone so may as well let him play out the season on the wing and be better for next year. We don’t have any better wingers anyway while Talau is in the centres.

Madge debuts a kid which results in a flogging and doesn't give him the opportunity to redeem himself the following week against a wooden spoon side.
Asu has shown more determination & effort in 1 game then both Mybe & Talau combined for the season, both of whom are pedestrians at times and have no go forward.

While Talau hasn't done much wrong, from what I've seen he lacks the agility to break games open from the backline. Atleast Joey is hard to handle, offloads and has a decent burst of pace off the mark.

Bulldogs game was the perfect opportunity to give him another run. We have Rooster, Penrith then Manly.

Manly game would be the ideal game to slot him back in. If we lost next 2, then it should be all about the youngsters moving forward.

Mbye was good defensively, ran for over 100m, scored a try and kicked 4 from 5. Thought he was good today.

You do realise Talau is barely an adult? He's 20. What do you expect of him? He's had a really good *rookie* year and any comparison to a seasoned vet like BJ is ridiculous.

Asu has been with the club like two weeks and is also 20. He'll get his shot.
