Attention forum members, this thread has arisen as a result of the existing Luke Brooks thread. On Monday 25 October 2021, a post was made containing a link to Luke Brooks highlights (not Youtube). A number of forum members have clicked on this link - exactly how many, I am unable to determine. Suffice to say it is a point of concern the moderation team wish to address.
One member who clicked on this link shortly afterwards became the victim of attempted credit card fraud, most likely as a result of malware infecting their computer, compromising their personal identity information. Whilst the ultimate perpetrators were unsuccessful, each financial institution implements different fraud detection systems.
I would advise anyone who clicked this link, to please check that their internet banking is secure - please use a different device from the one you used to access the link in the event that device is compromised - I would suggest running an AV program over the device and consider resetting your IB password even if one cent is missing, then that's cause for concern as it means you are compromised.
The post in question has since been removed and this is a reminder for people to be vigilant when accessing links as malware and ransomware are the number one cause of cybercrime in Australia and around the world at present.
If anyone has been the victim of fraud in relation to this, please contact one of the moderators.
